It's pretty pricey though I think I saw $629 when I looked. I might spring for 1/3 of that price, otherwise, I'll stick with taking two spots when necessary for 15 min - We travel a lot, but usually along routes with high stall count superchargers

Totally understandable I get it. I’ve had a lightning for four years and frankly never needed one so it’s definitely a nice to have not a must have I would say

Had my Lightning since May 2022. Been using Tesla since Elon opened it up to Fords. Never had a problem taking up two spaces. I'll pass on this long cord.

I do A LOT of long distance travel in my 23 Pro SR - 19 road trips of at least 1500 miles each in the last few years. As soon as I could, I moved roughly 70% of my DCFC charging to Tesla (and on some trips, it is virtually 100%). Consequently, I am using many v3 Tesla dispensers. Except for one odd/unique situation at an urban site in Las Vegas, I have never had to wait, nor seriously inconvenienced anyone because I had to take up two stalls (not always - I usually try to park by the end stall). I think these cable extenders are a solution looking for a problem.

That said, based on a moronic interaction I had with another Lightning owner on a different forum, there are idiots out there who are baffled/frustrated by Telsa v3 dispensers and who can probably be conned out of $900 to solve this non-issue.

I think it was 600 not nine hundred. I am not sure the cable is good enough, but having been to tesla stations that are full it may be useful. Last Thanksgiving Harris ranch has over a hundred chargers and you had to wait in queue. Hate to have to wait for 2 chargers or the one on the end.

Harris Ranch is an interesting case, given it is in the highly traffic'd I-5 corridor, and would be a major EV travel route during any holiday, but especially T-day.

But your observation does highlight a huge difference between Tesla and everybody else. Tesla isn't afraid to put in a zillion stalls at a single location. You'd probably be still waiting to use the six dispenser Electrify America station at Harris Ranch. In fact, I just checked - right now the five working chargers are in use, and the other is off-line. EA is so pathetic...

The review on State of Charge was not as flattering
Do you have a link? I could only find his review of the original cable (which pretty much everybody reported as very bad).

I've only dcfc fewer than 20 times all at Tesla. 6 times I had to wait for a 2nd stall to open because all the Tesla's neatly took every other stall...so the need exists depending on you location. These were all 12 stall. 4 in the greater chicago area and 2 along tollway in Pennsylvania...

So it's an accessory like an old man topper/soft cover or hard cover...some people want them and some people don't.

In ten year, these charging station's will be dinosaurs. You only need 60 stalls at a Buc-ee’s when you have 10 minute charging.

Only sort of. Although new cars in 2036 may well be able to do 10 minute charges, there will be lots of cars that can't - including my Lightning which I hope to still be driving in 10 years.
