So you can't charge past 85% and the dealer didn't find a bad cell? Shoot me a DM with your VIN and some more details and I will see who I can get to take a look at it for you.
Update: dealership called and a bad cell has been confirmed. My concern now is how well the pack can be balanced with a replacement module at almost 100k miles on the other 8.

Balancing state of charge isn't a guarantee to balance state of health.
You're an edge case which will guide the statistics, let's see what they do for you.

Remember the possible 22 day delay after the repair for balancing to complete, if the dealer does not match your existing 80% charge on the others closely. Also, keep an eye on the coolant level, have dealer top it off to help.

Will let everyone know how it goes. May start a new thread since it may be of interest given the truck's mileage.

Ended up having a bad cell. Fell under SSM 53208, array 8 replaced under HVB warranty.

Truck has been at the dealership for a couple weeks now but I was able to determine it was done because they started charging it. Communication hasn't been the best...

The bad cell was 82 in module 8, there was no warning for the failure. Also noticed that cell 27 looks kind of different to the others.

Ford F-150 Lightning Home Charging STOPS at 85% 1784319318252-di

Cell 27 is about 3x further from the pack average than any other healthy cell (-0.68% vs -0.24%), and it sits 0.44% below its nearest neighbor when every other cell is within ~0.13%. It's within the 0.030 V flag threshold, so FDRS didn't tag it, but it's the next cell down the same list as the failed 82.

Not sure if this means anything or if it will all balance out nicely, but worried that could be something to keep any eye on.

In addition to that concern, some requests I had that were wholesale unacknowledged:

  • photos of the open pack once dropped
  • bench-balance the new array to the FDRS Target Voltage Code before reassembly
  • while the pack is out, pressure-test the HV coolant loop
  • check the pack interior for any coolant intrusion or leaks.
  • verify the coolant heater and diverter/isolation valve are working
  • check coolant level after repair
  • send FDRS battery health report after array replacement

They did send me:

"RESPONSE FROM TECH.

“Nothing else gets looked at. It only gets replaced if its failed hard fault. Coolant loop isn't leaking.”

REGARDS"

Okay? Well I'm almost out of warranty so just want to be sure I'm good...

🙃
