This just started happening this week. When charging the truck, the battery indicator jumps from 85% to 100%. When I unplug and start the truck it drops back down to 85%. The app reflects whatever the truck is saying. anyone have any experience with this? Any help would be appreciated.

Did you get the recent update? My truck all of a sudden said ā€œchange pausedā€ will resume at charging station. This was at 81%. Never happened before. Checked charger, unplugged for 10 minutes. Started right up charging to 90%.

Something a bit bonkers in new update I think.

Isnā€™t that what happens when there is a bad cell?
Bad cell or charge imbalance between cells. Iā€™d try to contact the Ford BEV team because chances are, the dealer isnā€™t going to know what to do.

Yes, behaviour is indicative of a bad cell or bad module.

EV team needs to remotely analyze data..

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? Iā€™d like to look into this concern on my end.

My truck is now in my driveway and won't move. I've gotten a "Powertrain Malfunction / Reduced Power" error and a "High-Voltage Battery Warning" error.

Have you checked your email inbox and phone ?

Ford may have tried to contact you about the bad battery cell/module...

My first thought was bad cell/module. I had an old cell phone that would have big jumps in state of charge. At 20 percent it would drop almost immediately to 4 percent.

You noticed this problem when trying to charge to greater than 85 percent. How would this appear for those of us who only charge to 50, 60 or 70 percent. Would we never know until we try to charge more? Should we periodically charge to a high state of charge just to make sure our battery is still functioning as designed?

Update: Today it started flashing an error message to Service Soon and Pull Over. That went away after one power cycle. Later I charged to 84% and it would not charge further. Got the same messages this time when powering on, but only 4% power. This was consistent, ended up having to be towed to the dealer. He was able to drive it onto the truck.

Of course the dealer canā€™t look at it for over a week.
