I have a 2023 Lightning XLT that originally had a module out of balance issue, the dealer wanted an amazing amount to fix it which I did not have so I had to let the truck sit for a bit. It will not allow charging at all.
I borrowed a mongoose from AJZRIDE (thank you so much) and paid for a 30 day subscription to FRDS. When powering on the truck and running the diagnostics the BECM and BCMC modules won't respond at all.
Would the HV part of the battery being dead really keep those components from communicating or is there another issue to be looking at first?
I am considering putting in a donor pack from salvage but wont to be sure that will fix the problem.
Is there any way to check the BECM without taking the battery out of the truck?
Will changing a battery pack for a good one cause the BECM to show up in FRDS?
What else do you think I should know - I have no experience at this and not flush with cash to pay ford to hunt and peck especially because they wanted to mark up the module more than $2k over the parts catalog and would not let me buy it from another dealer in Florida.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
