Well,
I was not expecting to run into an issue this fast after purchasing the truck on 5/24 a few days ago. I was on my way home from work today and rolled down the windows to let the heat out. I went to roll it back up and it wouldn't roll up the passenger rear window. When i pressed the button i could hear the window regulator clicking. Puzzled over what was going on i kept hearing the door clicking, even when i was not pressing any buttons and i noticed the window was slightly moving down when it would click, then it would relax and kept cycling this over and over.
I wanted to get the window back up, because it looked like it was going to rain soon, so in the parking lot of autozone i took out my tool kit i keep in all my vehicles and took the interior door panel off the door. Its just 2 bolts at the bottom and 2 more below the door handle on the inside. Once i got it off carefully i unplugged the harness going into the door button assembly, but the door was still cycling like it was trying to move, but not moving. So i removed the speaker to see the window motor and immediately realized it was stuck on cycling, because the motor was so hot it burned me when i briefly touched it, so i immediately unplugged the power harness going into the window motor. After i did this the window stopped doing the cycling and slightly moving action. I then went into the parts store and was able to barrow a multi-meter and found that the power harness going to the window motor was always hot 12v with no buttons pressed. So in hopes of getting the window up, i bought a jumper cable set from electrical isle and jumped the 12v backwards to see if the window would roll up and it did thankfully.
After i got the window rolled back up, i went to re-install the door and mistakenly went to put the power harness back in the window motor without thinking about it and the window immediately started going back down, so i quickly unplugged it again. I jumped it again and it thankfully went back up again. Then i left the 12v power harness unplugged and put the door back together and drove home.
It seems the switching circuit for that door has shorted closed, so its stuck trying to roll the window down. I am going to reach out to the dealer i bought it from and see what they will do for me, unfortunately the dealership i bought from is 300+ miles away.
Edit:
Just got off the phone with the dealership i bought it from. I explain the issue to them and apparently its a known common issue with a TSB i was told. They are going to mail the part to me since I'm not local, but unfortunately wont pay labor to my local dealership to install it. Apparently the rear passenger door part of the pcb on the drivers door window switch shorts out and permanently tries to roll the rear window down. The clicking i was hearing was apparently the safety temp switch in the window motor disconnecting power when its to hot and reconnecting (cycling).
