How do you use, what is the lPl button on the bottom middle under the lcd screen , next to the emergency flashers button on the 2024 flash? I couldnt find any useful info.

Automagic parking. At least on my Lariat that's what it is. Slowly roll down a street with open parking spaces and when you approach one you think you can get into you press the button and follow the instructions on the screen. It will put you into that parking space.

It's a P for parking with two lines like a parking space. Some of the elders had the technology to automatically park, but their methods were lost to time (cost cutting). Later models have the button, I think it pulls up parking lots or something in the navigation, I never use it, wish it did something useful..maybe a 3rd way to turn on the defrost so I still have to go into a menu for max A/C

I was under the impression this could be reenabled with Forscan. I have no idea where I saw that however.

on the Mach-e if the right module (and chip(s)) were there...you can. I think for the Mach e they stopped auto parking for 2023 (2021-2022 had it) but they didn't stop installing the module with the capability to do it until mid-year 2023. I don't know if the same was done for the Lightning.

Sort of cruel for Ford to keep the parking button, while removing the feature. Would have been easy to leave off the decal. I have found the parking function to be less than useful, as the process is cumbersome. I think if the process had been better designed, Ford might have seen better uptake, as automatic parking, or unparking (not a real word) is better implemented by other brands. Although I do not know what their utilization is either.

Yeah this is the one feature where I thought, ok I can see why they got rid of this. I’ve also only used it like 2 or 3 times on my 2023. There really can’t be anyone directly behind you or in front of you when you use it to parallel park, because of how slow you need to let the truck scan for open spots and then wait for the truck to do its thing. By then the person behind you is already tailing your butt and the truck can’t move. They start beeping, you spill your coffee. You see where this is going.
