2023 Lariat missing Hill Descent

Hi, I can't find the Hill Descent in the Driver assist on my 2023 Lariat SR.

I activated the menu item with ForScan, but i didn't work and turned the button off after a few seconds. I tried some mods to the ABS module from a 2022 ICE, but no dice.

Anyone know the correct coding to activate Hill Descent on a 2023 Lariat?

What specific changes did you make with FORScan?
What do you mean mods to ABS? FORScan parameter changes or upload bootleg firmware?

I ask because the Lightning often doesn't use the same changes as an ICE.

I adjusted these parameters. The IPC did show the option after a restart, but it would not stay enabled.

I wasn't aware of this function...in searching through the owners manual, it only shows one item, which is the symbol.

No other mention of settings, etc.

What guide are you following? This post suggests that besides those two FORScan changes you need to also enable Rock Crawl mode and add the physical button to turn the feature on and off. But that thread is long and I haven't read the whole thing.

Also, what values did you change the IPC and ABS to? Based on what I see, the '23 Lariat Lightning already had the correct IPC value for Hill Descent Control enabled ("B").

I followed that guide, but as the button is visible in the center screen I didn´t add a physical one.

I used this sheet for values.

F = DIICM enabled • TSRNCAPA enabled • HDCCF enabled • TJA enabled

It is mentioned here, for the 2025, and also listede elsewhere as a standard feature that's gone from the 2025 as standard.

All 22-24 Lightnings that I have in my database (US and Canada) have either A or B which means HDC is enabled already. You have an F which also enables TSR NCAP Adaptions - may be a European thing since your in Norway. So agree you're good there.

ABS 760-03-01 *xxx --
The guide wants you to change from "HDC w/o HDC" to "HDC w/ HDC". Again I show most Lightnings had a C so you changing to E was correct.

Two things:
1) The guide says to also enable Rock Crawl mode but you don't mention doing that.
2) The Owners manual you linked does say it can be turned on and off in the center screen. But similar to @digitaldad, my 2022 manual doesn't have any of that language.

Be cool if you can get this working.

Enabling Rock Crawl didn't help. In fact it messed up the Drive Modes, could not select Normal any more.

Hill Descent still disables after a few seconds, and no "Hill Descent Symbol" in the dash the few seconds the toggle is on.

One pedal isn't the same. Hill Descent holds a speed.

2025 has a new ABS module. Not the same as previous years.

That being said there is a Hill decent config on the APIM

Yes, that's the adjustment that make the button appear in the center display. But it will not stay toggled after pushing it. It jumps back to untoggled after a few seconds.

Summary:
IPC is already enabled from factory
ABS 760-03-01 *xxx -- - enable HDC, done, nothing changes
ABS 760-04-01 xxxx xx8x xx-- enables Rock Crawl drive mode, done, disables mode selection in center display, and still no HDC.
APIM, changed to show the button
