The tech bulletin I attached shows it's a simple FDRS module update, less than 1/2 hour labor. Perfect for Mobile Tech. Thanks for sharing this. I just spoke to the dealership and they are looking to see if it can be done by a mobile mechanic.
You may be onto something. All of this work yesterday...it seemed like it was a hard failure, and then I was driving home today and it came back on. Not when I initially started the truck, but after being on for a few minutes. Then...25 minutes later, it went out again. But...the GPS didn't go out this time.Since receiving the SYNC-25.2.1.6.5.2 update on 5 March, I have had multiple occurrences of what you've described. I'll have a trip where audio works fine (using Android Auto). I get to my destination, turn off the truck, go about my business. When I return to the truck and start things up, my phone connects and audio looks to be work; as you mentioned, the time slider is advancing, skipping tracks works but there is no sound. Like you, I then noticed the power indication was off. Turned audio on, still no audio. I can then get to my next destination, turn off the truck, go about business, return, start truck, phone connects and audio is fine. It doesn't happen every day; but at least 2 or 3 times a week.
Prior to the referenced update, I have not encountered any issues with audio via Android Auto in the almost three years I've had the truck.
