Is it processing? Sensors? What’s that deal that they are cutting off updates at 1.4 for all existing model years? Can’t believe they want to have a subscription service and yet they kill support so quickly. Fords future proofing is cringey at best.

This is the first I’m hearing of this.

I dont believe there is new hardware. The new IPMAs have an additional firmware address but that address isnt anything that carries anything that prevents 1.5 for earlier vehicles. The TRON vehicles all have the new address.

There are no additional parts for 1.5 or sensors.

Our trucks can already do 1.5 pretty much but have to initiate the lane change. Our trucks will suggest a lane change is available. We have to instigate it with the turn signal.

the 26 Lightnings do not have 1.5 as of the ones I have seen. The only ones with 1.5 as of now is the 25 Mach E. The 25 Mach E has TRON.

2026 Lightning production has started already?????
IIRC the 2025 production year runs until December 2025

Not paying full price for stale milk and day old bread. Especially when there is fresh milk in the markets coolers for the same price they're selling stale milk for. Same applies to day old bread.

The problem is Ford is not allowing us to buy the fresh milk and bread. Maybe they should start drinking sour milk and hard bread.

My thoughts exactly. I see no reason why first-gen BC vehicles cannot do auto lane change. Ford would just need to add the event to the software.

Well, this is encouraging, my 'flawed opinion' was based on misunderstanding of what's been said previously.

To be honest, it's kind of gimmicky to me. I'm not sure how much I would "enjoy" the auto-lane change feature; especially where I live and drive where we are always rated amongst the worse drivers by city in the nation. I would rather they work in improving BC overall performance than adding more "look what I can do" features.

Nothing more exciting than a rumored new product, unless it is being rumored to be denied a rumored new product for a reason that can become a conspiracy theory.

1. Where has Ford ever said BlueCruise 1.5 was even coming to Lightnings? Note that BC 1.3 came to Mach Es but BC 1.4 came to Lightnings.

2. Where has Ford ever said BC 1.5 won't work on existing Lightnings?

It would be nice if Emily & Jake's proxy @Ford Motor Company would ring in with actual facts.

not sure. I can’t even imagine how annoyed I would be if I just bought a 25 and found out the hardware was already DOA.
