24's and 25's get left out to dry apparently.

Maybe when Brian @Ford Motor Company comes back after the holidays can help us understand why we get left out with only a 3 month trial when purchased new.
I also only got 3 months and have been charged monthly ever since

Has anyone out there with a 2025 gotten a free extension? Like, due to filling out a survey or anything like that? I have not with mine….three months was it. There aren’t enough Blue Highways nearby for me to justify paying for the subscription. Doubt I would pay $50mo even if there were!

Mine shows a 1 year extension but I think that was something we could sign up for several months ago.

If it’s any better for the ā€˜25 folks, at least yall got steep discounts and 0% apr. I remember all the weird ways to join Parsons because they had 4% and that was low back a few years, not too mention feeling good buying at MSRP at the old, high, non rebate cost lol. Least Ford could do is dangle some free blue cruise for those of us in the ā€˜23 bus.

I got the free year earlier this year on my 22, but I don't see anything about 2 or 3 years free like I saw some post in the Reddit thread. Mine came with 3 years of BC when I originally bought the truck.

On Reddit, someone said it was because the Window sticker showed BlueCruise with no mention of a subscription on the 22/23 models. Not sure if there is any truth to that or not.

I checked my window sticker and there is no mention of Bluecruise and instead lists "FORD CO-PILOT360 ACTIVE 2.0" under the 511A group equipment. I looked at a window sticker for a 2023 Lariat I was looking at before I bought my 22 and it listed "FORD BLUECRUISE 1.0 (3 YRS)" under the 511A group

On my '23 Lariat (delivered 1/16/24), it says trial expires on 1/16/27. After that date, I apparently have two choices: I can pay $49 per month (or prepay $495 per year), or I can choose "choose another plan." The details in this choice state that I can get 1 free year for $0, and there is a "buy" button. However, I'm not going to click that buy button yet; I'll wait until it gets closer to the expiration date.

What year is your lightening? I have a 2022 Lariat. And I’m located in Ontario. I’m just wondering why I don’t have the same offer.

I remember a bit ago when it was posted that you could get an additional year cruise free depending on your year I did that but I just noticed today that it says there will be two years at the end of my trial. Was it always two years? And I am not remembering correctly?

See below from App. If I am reading this correctly, my free trial of three years of blue cruise will end next December and then I will have two more years for free after that.

Yeah I'm not paying $50/mth for something I might use once or twice a year. If they dropped the cost down to $10/mth, I'd likely pay that just to have it handy in case an unplanned trip should occur.

Lucky for you with older trucks. When I bought my 24 in February 25, I got a 3 month trial and then it ended. I played with it some during the trial, but did not really trust it. Not overly useful around town.
I did pay for a month (with points) a couple months ago for a couple trips and it was better (had updated to BC1.4). It was nice to have, but not worth $500 per year for it. I may in the future buy it for a month when I have long trips planned - I have at least two planned for 2026.

2025 Ford Lightning Flash Job 2 😭
What was the total cost for you to get, up and running including hardware and what do you have to pay after that? Any concerns with insurance if you get in a car wreck with it being activated?
It's not subscription based so you just have the upfront cost of the device. comma.ai — make driving chill I have a Comma 3x but they recently released a 4 that's quite a bit smaller and is $999 which included the Ford Q4 harness to connect to the IPMA on the truck. Looks like the 4 is under limited support so getting everything working appears to be a work in progress.

One nuance is that something with the length of the usb cable causes reflections in the cable which causes the dash to light up like a Christmas tree as the Comma boots up but there's a coupler you can purchase for $55 that resolves those.. Lightning Coupler Order Page - Blue Pilot

It's not 100% plug and go as it does require some tweaking to get the settings to your liking but I like that it works on any road unlike Blue Cruise. Below thread is long but a good read for anyone interested. https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/comma-ai-self-driver-assistant.18266
They don't list the Ford Lightning..
It's not officially listed due to the errors on start up but works fine with a q4 harness for a regular f150
Just to be clear for everyone, the comma does NOT work with bone stock OpenPilot, you (currently) MUST install a derivative branch, typically (only?) BluePilot. Since the comma ships without self driving software installed it is very easy to do. The hardest part of the software install is reaching the keyboard. I'm not sure where we stand on the comma 4's bluepilot development, but that's best left to the comma thread.

Caveats aside, is it perfect, no. Is it perfect adjacent, absolutely!

On my 2022 Platinum the window sticker confirmed BlueCruise was included as standard but it made no mention of time limit or any trial period. I did get the "free" one year extension so mine is active through August 2026. I don't know it's reasonable to expect updates for free for life but I also don't know that it isn't. After all, the wording on the sticker is Ford's and not mine, and they did not place any limitations on it. I'd be happy if they offer another extension for a year or two. I think they should.

Ford still wants me to start paying for BlueCruise on my ā€˜22 Lariat starting in August next year. ☹
Yeah, I don't think that I'll be paying for BlueCruise when the time comes. I never use it enough to justify the cost.

I have a 2022.

I signed for the free year extension that was offered awhile ago.

Now I'm seeing a 3 year free extension when my original 3 year trial expires.

Mine's a '22 as well. I was only offer a 1 year free extension. I wonder what was the differentiating factor?
