Boxlink cleats

Searched the forum and didn’t see answers to these questions, most likely because I’m such a rookie truck owner they’re pretty basic.
1) from my research (and help of chatgpt) I guess I have ford “boxlink” in the truck bed. First Q based on this statement: is this just as “cross compatible” as traditional t slots? Searching Amazon most accessories require a t slots instead of the “boxlink”.

2) to keep my level of effort low and since most of my “hauling” is going to consist of light work like camping gear, bikes, furniture and 20lb propane tanks… which tie down anchors would be recommended with these boxlinks.

I picked up a 2025 lightning lariat last week.

I have the Ford ones, they work fine. The box also has 4 tie downs that are also handy. You can run a ratchet strap between the front 2 to hold your propane.

XLT's and above used to include (4) "premium locking cleats". These were in a blister pack somewhere in the truck for self-install.

Sadly it looks like they were deleted for 2025.

Yeah, I got mine with the truck and was surprised to see the price via Ford accessories. Very happy with them however, they work great to strap a 6gal can of dino juice for the mower in place.

Also that mounting plate looks different than what I remember. Looking at @GarageMahal's link (which are the ones that used to be included) they have a note:
2024 and newer F-150 requires replacement of the “H-Loop” production Tie Down, if so equipped, with the Standard Interface Plate Kit HC3Z-9928408-AA to be compatible with Premium Locking Bed Cleats

Sure enough, your truck has the newer H-Loop (the one on the right). The cleats in the link fit the old style on the left:

I would hope Ford has a new cleat that fits the "H-Loop" plate style you have.

My 2024 Lightning came with the new H brackets. I replaced the brackets with ones from Amazon for $20. They come with screws also. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW14LQT1

I had a set of the old cleats from a previous truck and used them.

Circling back here, now that it’s established that ford switched these in for the original boxlink.
Can anyone provide detail how they’ve used this style of clete to secure cargo or has nobody found a use and switched it for the boxlink that allows attachments and accessories?

I may spring for switching out for something like these rad straps.

Boxlink is such a cool idea that has almost no support out of the OEM tie downs. At least, from the quick searching I did on it in the past. Anybody have any cool boxlink options?
