Hi, Has anyone else had a rattle in the center console. Its not really loud, it sounds like it is from the folding work surface. I've tried a bunch of felt pads at any contact points i can find but it hasn't made any difference. It sounds like it could be an unused wire harness bouncing around inside the center console itself. It really isn't worth a trip to the dealer I bought it from as they are 30 miles each way and traffic getting there is always bad. I've only had it a couple weeks, other than this i love it !!! I would really like to resolve it myself so any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, It's a 2025 Lightning Lariat.

My first thought was that it was something I put in there but I emptied it out and it is still doing it. I probably have 30 little felt tabs spread around in there and nothing helps lol

Check the round knubs on the bottom. Or it may be the part that when folded holds it shut.

With the felt tabs I added the latch is really tight when closed. So I don’t think it us the latch but I will take a closer look at those nubs

Mine occasionally rattles too--but it seems to be coming from the tambour cover over the phone charging pad. Not sure yet how I'd remedy.

Last night my daughter was napping in the passenger seat while I was driving and this morning, I heard some weird rattling…ended up being the seatbelt rattling against the side because she had reclined the seat and it was kind of sideways between the seat and the side of the truck. I’m sure that’s not your problem but just in case someone else has that happen!

edit:
Something else I thought of is there is the two cupholders and that strangely shaped slot in the rear of the console area something in there maybe?

That is the area I hear the noise but this has been happening since i picked it up so there is nothing in the cup holder. My girlfriend laughed at me, she said its a truck they make noises.

The meaning is lift up the bottom round rubber insert in the cup holder closest to center console, there is a slot where key fobs are programmed there. Mine had a winged key there that was rattling/knocking (at times).

Also of note, there are harnesses beneath the cup holder asembly as well, and something could be knocking up against the floor. This requires removing the left and right side console trims to lift up the cupholder assembly.

Thank you !!!! I'll check that cup holder area next. I did find two harnesses really close to the center console by the passenger seat, i'll put something in there to isolate those if i can get my fat hand in there lol

No luck with the cup holder, there was nothing in there. I did see a video somewhere showing disassembly of the center console to fix the weak spring using 4 nickles. I'll see if i can find that and really get deep down inside that thing.

Bummer. There is nothing to remove for the nickel/spring fix, just need to lift the console lid for that (peer inside back at the hinges). Mine came with the cubby safe installed, so I'm not sure what default is inside that may cause noise (if its not the cupholders area).
