I don't have any scheduled charges set at all. Ford Pass posts a charging error but the truck charges fine and EVSE starts charging immediately as expected. It's only recently that the issue popped up. like everyone else who is posting the same thing.

It has to be a Ford Pass issue.
This makes sense to me. Even when I’ve plugged the truck in after 9pm, which is when mine is scheduled to start charging, I’ve gotten the error. But yeah, every time it has charged just fine.

I know with some Tesla home chargers, you go into the settings and tell it to charge non-Teslas, but that's probably not the issue.

There are many threads in places that talk about Tesla home charger issues with other makes.

One of the solutions is to get Tesla to push an update to the unit, because it's a communication problem with the vehicle.

When the Tesla Wall Connector isn’t delivering power, it never actually disconnects or drop the pilot signal. It stays in State B, so the truck still sees a live connection, but the charger is basically saying “you’re plugged in just not charging right now” by setting the available current to 0 amps. Teslas handle this without issue, but the Lightning sometimes throws a quick “charger error”.

Hopefully everyone sees this and understands this now. Since the first time I made the post and did my research I’ve been fine everyone no errors anymore with charging set at 10pm. Plus just wired up the second Tesla universal charger for my girls Tesla I just bought her a month or two or go. We just had our first child and she need a new car so got the ev tax credit before it went away and got her a Tesla model y. There both wired up and connected and no issues what’s so ever my truck starts charging at 10 pm and her car starts at 6am

Nice. She will love the new Tesla Y Juniper. Model Y and Lightning are a good combination.

Question:
Did you configure the 2 Tesla Wall Connectors to power share a single circuit? If not then you should set it up for safety. That way the max total current won’t exceed the circuit rating. If on an 60 a,p circuit and only one car is charging it charges at max output, 11,7 kWs. . If 2 cars are charging the Wall Connectors communicate and reduce out put to 5.8 kWs to share power safely.

The setup instructions are in the installation manual. If you need a link to it let me know.

Here is my 2 wall connector setup sharing power when both cars are charging.

Yes I did power share. I have a 60 amp breaker from when it was just the lightning set up but when adding the second universal charger I set it to 50amp on the Tesla app that way it will only put out 40 amps and if they ever happen to charge at the same time, which again should never. It will split the 40 to do 20 for both. And yes I tried it to confirm it to make sure everything was correct. The charger is in the middle is the leader and the charger to the left is the follower. Believe me I made sure to cover every base and understood how power share works for the the universal Tesla charger. It really makes having multiple Evs easy to wire up.
Nice Ys you have there. we also have the white 2026 awd dual motor drive one.

Sounds like you have all the bases covered. When I installed the 2nd WC with power share I left the Wall Connectors at the house set to the 60 amp circuit 48 amp output. I wanted all the amps they can push to the Lightning due to the Truck's efficiency and big battery compared to the Tesla. The Lightning is 1/2 as efficient as the Tesla Y. It takes twice as long to charge for same miles driven.

Tesla Wall Connectors are what I recommend to new owners. The Universal Wall Connector with the capability to charge NACS and J1772 vehicles works great with the built it adaptor. Plus the 4 year warranty and live person telephone support if needed is first class.

BTW, I just changed my signature to reflect my current vehicle mix.
