Was wondering if anyone has ever heard this chirping/clicking noise before. The noise happens multiple times in the video and only makes the sound when I let the truck sit for longer then 10 min and last about the first minute of driving but I have also heard it while just sitting in the truck with it not on. Just wanted to see if anyone has ever experienced a similar noise.

I didn't hear much in the video, but I'm certain it can be solved with a good soundtrack. :sunglasses:.

Seriously, though, it could be the climate system moving diverters around to balance the cabin temperature.

One thing that is notable - the Lightning is a VERY QUIET truck and sounds like this exists louder and in greater quantity in most vehicles. In the quiet of the Lightning cabin, they become audible.

Mouse or bird in the cabin filter area? I recently had the filter replaced and they found a nest. Service agent said if the AC is on recirculate the critters can get in there.

I appreciate the mild humor but it happens every single time I get in my truck and it is brand new 2025 just hit 1k miles. Just wanted to see if that sound was normal but based off the comments doesn’t seem like it is guess I will have to unfortunately take it in to be looked at.

I wasn’t really trying for humor. When I did something chirping in the recording it did not sound mechanical. You mentioned that you hear it when the truck on and when it is off which sounds like it could be an animal and I have first hand experience with them getting in there. I would pull out the cabin filter (under the glove box) and check.

Hi, I created an account to chime in.
I just bought a 2025 F150 non-lightening and i'm hearing the very same noise.

It only happens for the first few minutes of the truck being turned on, then it goes away.

It sounds like a cricket, or possibly a computer mouse double-click.

The sound is identical to your video. So since we have different trucks for the mechanical part, i'd have to believe it's something of a behavior in something common like possibly the climate control (blend door, or some actuator maybe?).

Hopefully someone comes up with an explanation. I'm not leaning towards something abnormal, but i'd like to know what it is.

Ya I still have not taken it in yet but I will definitely be taking it in soon because the noise is very annoying. If you ever find a solution please post it and if I find one I will as well.

I have a 2025 STX just turned 1k miles and mine has been doing this exact same thing. Same sound and only sticks around for several minutes after driving for several minutes. Very interested in hearing if there are any discoveries made as to the cause

By any chance do any of you that are experiencing this have the security and monitoring feature enabled? Which includes location tracking? One rabbit hole that I am investigating is that it may be coming from a piezoelectric speaker under the dash related to GPS tracking. I have found a couple of discussions that mention odd sounds coming from one of these speakers which are part of GPS tracking. I do recall this starting after I enabled the security monitoring through the ford app.

Being that this is only happening after shifting into gear and driving for a bit this seems plausible.

Is that part of the ford security package within the app? If so then no, I haven’t looked in my f-150 settings within the Infotainment system yet tho.

I noticed this started happening with my truck after an Over The Air update related to Safety Recall 25S77: ABS-25.8.3 which allegedly has something to do with the ABS control module.

I too noticed that the truck makes the noise during the first few minutes of driving and goes away eventually, but I have also noticed it make the noise while parked and turned off.

I don't know if the update is just coincidence, but I know I never heard the noise before the update.

Just curious, any of you that are experiencing the noise, have you made any changes with Forscan?

Just found this forum. I just purchased a 2025 Ford F150 XLT v.8, and while not electric like the lightening, I am experiencing the exact same issue. Noticed it right away, and the pathology is eerily identical. Upon start-up and first 5 to maybe 10 minutes of operation, the cricket sounding chirp coming from or around the digital driverside panel. I have had the truck for a couple weeks and only 200 miles on the odometer. I reached out through chat to the dealership yesterday and was assured someone from service would get back to me...still waiting. I have tried seeing if having the air/heat on or off or the recirculator on or off made any difference, and nothing has made any difference. The vehicle drives terrific and no other issues. Sound is annoying and honestly a bit disheartening considering the cost of these trucks. Hope someone has luck seeing a resolution, If I see or hear anything will likewise post an update here. Ugggggh....always something!!!
