Yes, over $10,000.

I wouldn't touch that system, myself. Just get a transfer switch and an extension cord (that is basically how mine is set up).Wow! This is very concerning. I was just pricing out the HIS for my 2025 Lightning. At this stage should the HIS be avoided?
It should not even be a consideration IMO. You'll have better luck winning on lottery scratchers than getting that hunk of shit to work reliably. And when it doesn't work, the customer support is non existent.Wow! This is very concerning. I was just pricing out the HIS for my 2025 Lightning. At this stage should the HIS be avoided?
This is really interesting and a possible out to get these systems reliable for us? I really hope Ford would be smart enough to repair the current systems with more reliable line communication instead of Bluetooth...He said the range for the connection is too short to be reliable. He also said it was stupid because the plug has unused pins that should have been used for the comm link but they thought they'd be slick and do it with bluetooth. This system was one of the main reasons I bought the truck. I love the truck other than that, but their lack of attention to this has pushed me to the brink of filing my own independent lawsuit to get restitution.
You can't get as much power out of the truck using that method. What is the largest 240V plug amperage, 20A? 30A? Whichever it is, it isn't anywhere close to the 100A rating of the Sunrun gateway. My system is set up to power a 100A subpanel inside my house which would likely overload the pro power plug.I wouldn't touch that system, myself. Just get a transfer switch and an extension cord (that is basically how mine is set up).

There are no “unused pins” on a J1772/CCS combo connector. Please add me to the class action. I spent over $10K for this system and it has never worked. I've been trying to get Ford and Sunrun to fix it or refund my money and repair my house for nearly two years and they just tell me they are working on it. The system has only successfully transferred power a few times, always when the Sunrun tech was standing right there and had just spent hours dinking around with it. As soon as they left, and I went somewhere and returned, the system wouldn't reconnect. I've been told, by the Sunrun tech, that the problem is in a poorly designed bluetooth communication link between the truck and the charger. He said the range for the connection is too short to be reliable. You are, of course, correct. What is the largest 240V plug amperage, 20A? 30A? Whichever it is, it isn't anywhere close to the 100A rating of the Sunrun gateway.
I would avoid it. Wish I had before I got suckered in by the false advertising.Wow! This is very concerning. I was just pricing out the HIS for my 2025 Lightning. At this stage should the HIS be avoided?
