Ah. Well, I was relying more on the order page showing it moved to production but ok.

No change in my account. Pro SR. 5/30 production week
Hopefully the will not drop off 5/30 production week for lack of parts.

Supplies are just so unsure they've decided to hold back, however Ford did just send many of us that are scheduled an updated email just a week back with our build week and VIN. Maybe that was the last of the weekly emails and we'll also get an email as it gets closer to the build day.

Talking to my dealer (and others have pointed out) I also already have a build day - Mine is May 27. I guess with the change in email strategy I'll get another one as that day approaches.

Kind of odd thing about this - my first model 3 I purchased was also built on the Friday before Memorial Day. I've had good luck with it, so I'll take that as a good sign.

The fact that Ford hasn't been scheduling new builds is because of the lack of parts.

At this point those of us with Production Dates (I am also 5/30) should be guaranteed builds at this point.

Ford's note on when you get scheduled for production is:

"Scheduled for Production – all necessary parts are secured, and your order has been placed in the production schedule."

Ford has been holding ICE f150s after build dates for chips, but I would think they would not to do that w/ Lightnings since they want them out faster (and lightnings are just a fraction of their builds). They've also been trimming features from even being scheduled for build dates.. the chip shortage is still very real.

Very true point on production, which was down 17% vs 1Q21. If you don't have a production date, there's a very real chance it could be many weeks or months until you have one, all it takes is one key component not being available. Regarding wanting to get the Lightning out and prioritizing above other vehicles, I would've assumed the same thing about the MME, but those production numbers moved backwards as well.

Prices are going up, because now automakers either need to sell fewer vehicles and wait for their suppliers, or they need to pay a premium to get in the front of the queue for a supplier that can produce. That's why there is a thread regarding Price Protection upcharges on ICE F-150s that have delayed delivery dates. It's a very real concern that the longer your truck goes without a production date, you too may see Price Protection added when your truck arrives.

I am listening to @FordVideoGuy via FB, he has a glimmer of optimism for 4/14 scheduling.

Based on his discussion on other model lines, 4/7 was kind of a scheduling cleanup day for May production, possibly we will see the big push for June scheduling next week.

I hope so… I hate waiting for a production date. The feeling of limbo is driving me crazy.

It seems it is dead this year. Anything that were to pass will be dismantled into a smaller bill. I am not the political guru however. Even if it did, no one could promise it would be retroactive.
My theory on passing of a new EV credit bill is that it'll get delayed until the parts pandemic is close to over. They know if they spin a new bill and offer $12.5k refundable EV credit, people are gonna swarm dealerships. With parts shortages, there will only be more chaos from a new wave of disgruntled customers crying that they won't get their EV's for a couple years. A new glamorous EV credit would also just add more flame to the fire for dealerships to add higher ADM on top of the current ADM they screwing people over with.

So as much as i'd love to get $12.5k refundable ev credit on my lightning, i think the greater good says the gov't should wait until things get back to normal. Let parts flow get back on track, weed out the dealership ADM's, (maybe even let inflation adjust a bit), THEN introduce a new EV credit say three years from now when i'm ready to get rid of my lightning for a newer one with better range :)

good point. trying to increase EVs without parts is not a good idea right now. I'm tempted to punt on my lightning and go with a model Y since I mostly need a commuting vehicle, but the added flexibility of the truck and the space for the whole family and gear for only about 10k more makes me want to keep the lightning. I just would like to get it this summer

If they move to a $12,500 EV credit, it should be $2,500 tax credit per year, when the vehicle was in your possession the whole year. Too many people flipping vehicles, this would make it so you have much less incentive to do so. Additionally, only people with liquidity and strong credit are in a position to flip vehicles anyway.

I have a crew of painters at my house now, I doubt any of them have a $12,500, tax liability, and all of them could use an electric truck/van for work. Tax credits should be limited to vehicles < $50k, let's push Ford to make more Pros, that would really move the needle on adoption and reducing emissions. People buying $70k+ vehicles should not get an incentive, nor do they need one, there are years long lines for any quality EV that is made. I didn't get a credit when I bought my Tesla, and I have no issues with that at all.

The new Bill erases the tax liability requirement.

While I fully agree with you that it’s ridiculous to subsidize $80K vehicles, it would still help in replacing carbon spewing gas vehicles with clean EVs. And that’s the stated purpose of the whole tax credit. Making it refundable will help many more people benefit from it.
