I work for an electrical utility and I am a ham radio operator. AM radio helps us find bad connections that cause noise and heat in the distribution lines.
Interesting. Please elaborate.

I listen to AM almost every day. When I am out of range I use iHeart.

WHO 1040 out of Des Moines Iowa and KFAB 1110 out of Omaha. Of course, I also listen to FM and SiriusXM.

There's a local am station out of Aitkin, Minn. that plays the best classic rock of any station I've found including Sirius. Very nostalgic with hits I haven't heard in years. I'm sure the younger listeners probably wouldn't appreciate it much though.

Loose connections or damage in the lines cause noise. With loose connectors and damaged wire you also have heat produced due to resistance. If you tune around 1200 kHz on AM and drive around you will hear the noise level rise and fall. These noise changes are caused by different sources, some of them are the our issues.
Electric fences, lightning, hair dryers and may more put RF (radio frequency) noise out. Your microwave typically does a job on your 2,4 gHz wifi too.

Don't listen to AM or FM. Only Sirius, Spotify or Stitcher.

What are the call signs? I would love to see if they do an online stream.

For me it’s mostly XM or Apple Music. AM for 760 WJR or 950am for traffic in Detroit ( yes we do have “traffic”)

FM radio is garbage these days.

It's 930 AM, "The Gobbler". I guess at one point Aitkin was a huge turkey processing town. Great music.

Hi everyone. Is there a way to disable AM FM via Forescan? If Sirius can be removed I can't see why Am and Fm can't be removed either.

When I am near Boston on the weekends, I listen to an music station that plays Irish music. The app is buggy so I sometimes go with the radio instead.

Just the opposite. I use iHeart app as my default (Normally podcasts of the daily sports or news talk) and then if I dont have cellular internet via phone (very very rare) I would consider using terrestrial radio.

The internet feed is drastically better audio and if you are alright with time shifted content (podcasts) then very few commercials as well.
