Doors delay unlocking when near truck

I’ve noticed lately that my doors don’t unlock quickly anymore when I grab the handle. Sometimes it takes so long I end up having to grab my phone and unlock them using the app. Could this be caused by a weakened 12v battery?

I thought it was just me. It’s been doing this for a while. I just replaced the swollen battery for a NAPA and it makes no difference.
(Dealer said they swell sometimes?????)

With keyfob or phone ?
If it's when using the fob then no, haven't noticed that.
If it's when using your phone / paak, then yes, common issue, lots of posts about it.

I have this issue with PAAK. Only on the driver's side - it will not unlock. Passenger side works fine. I called Ford support, they were no help.

Phone. I never carry a key fob.

Noticed the same thing. I as well changed the battery in the fob and did nothing. Also been having issues with it not walk away locking.

Make sure the battery usage feature (Androids) is set properly to UNRESTRICTED

I carry my phone in my left pocket. Sometimes I have to turn so the phone so the sensor is closer to it for it to work properly. It always works on the passenger side because my left pocket is closer to the door when reaching for the handle.
Also, I have noticed if my phone is locked for more than a few minutes, it doesn't work unless I unlock the phone - this may be a corporate security thing and may not apply to everyone.

When you say common issue, do you mean the issue is the 12v battery?

I noticed this some months back.. I have PaaK and carry the fob in my pocket (why I don't know, just like the feel of a fob in my pocket). Anyway I discovered that if you slide your fingers between the handle then lift up then grab it responds quickly every time. I discovered this since in these parts there is plenty of dew on the truck in the morning and I hated grabbing a wet handle. Since I have used this trick no waiting or pulling on the handle without it opening immediatly.

No, just the fact that paak is hit and miss.

For a while I thought my key fob battery was getting low because I would touch the door handle and nothing would happen. After some troubleshooting I realized I was putting my earbuds in the same pants pocket as my key fob. This caused interference and prevented my door from unlocking.

As soon as I started putting my earbuds in a different pocket from the key fob everything is all good. Just sharing in case someone else is doing this.
