How do you force it to go CAN?

You need to hit "No" when FDRS asks "Was the update successful". Then you should see options such as "Retry USB", "Retry Verification" or "Update via CAN bus".

Updating IPC via CAN would be painfully long though. Perhaps 6+ hours or so

My IPC update via CAN took exactly 6.5 hours. I have the 8" screen.

For the restart loop, I shut off the truck, closed the door and put the key far away for 35 mins.

that worked every time.

lots of modules and relays clicking for the first few minutes but all quiet when I returned at 35 mins.

So checking on Forscan I have a DTC on the APIM - Checksum failure. I am currently on the APIM 1.7.1 restart loop fun. Just trying to get it going. Tried literally everything, and just tried to start the install over and it did nothing. With this error in the APIM do you think doing a PMI to the APIM will fix the DTC and then I can try the APIM update again. I feel like with the error present it won't ever update. Is the PMI process easy? I can find it in FRDS just curious if this is worth doing or even not advised to do cause it may screw it up? Thanks for any help

You have a chance on screwing it up just doing the updates so does it matter? PMI is easy, you'll be tricking it into thinking you replaced the module when in fact you didn't. Just follow the prompts as if you did replace it.

I know what you're saying but I was already 90 minutes in and didn't feel like playing the will it won't game with the damn thing. 5-6 seemed acceptable to me

It's actually going pretty quick.
I started around 4:50pm today and I say I have about 1h:30m-1h:45m left (The UCDS adapter is pretty fast at writing data)

It's actually going pretty quick.
I started around 4:50pm today and I say I have about 1h:30m-1h:45m left (The UCDS adapter is pretty fast at writing data)

I wonder if you UCDS adapter is causing same network scan issues as the VCX Nano device! After all its just another J2534 pass-through device. Am I correct ?

It is but I’ve never seen the corruption as you’ve mentioned with the VCX Nano.
