A depreciating asset is a depreciating asset. There just isn't any other way to look at it.From all the videos I see or reviews I read. It’s either 3 things
1. They don’t even own the truck and just used it for a month or so.
2. They depended on hooking up to fast chargers as their primary source of charging.
3. It loses value.
it’s the 3rd one that always gets me. I guess if you’re into swapping vehicles every 2 years you might want to shy away but if that’s the case why aren’t you just leasing? I got my lighting a month ago and I plan on keeping this thing as long as it can go. I didn’t buy it thinking “Man I wonder how it’s going to depreciate when I want a new truck in 2 years”. Just me guess lol.
My previous Pro developed a very annoying squeak in the drivers seat. However it was easily cured with a can of silicone spray and just unzipping the back of the seat for access. My xlt has been perfect.I dunno.
Overall a pretty fair review but I think it kinda goes sideways towards the end. I feel like they were just trying to find something to complain about and of course towing and fast charging are the go-tos. Maybe it's just me but unless you're racking up crazy miles each day, I really can't see choosing the hybrid over the Lightning. I get the feeling that this truck gets passed around between staff members and nobody gets to fully appreciate it. I'd be curious to know who's paying to put gas in that hybrid.
Also, has anybody here with at truck over 20k miles experienced all the "squeaks & rattles" they note? I've seen very few complaints on this forum regarding that.
The Ford hurts the most though. It’s great for 2nd hand buyers!A depreciating asset is a depreciating asset. There just isn't any other way to look at it.
All your points are spot on

Assuming same ordering and deposit timeframes, a 2022 Rivian R1T had a price of $78k loaded and has a trade in of roughly $45k. A 2022 F-150 Lariat ER loaded was about $82k and has a trade in value of roughly $35k.
Everytime I see that, I wish I kept my SR Pro. Those things haven’t lost a dime in depreciation.
People new to the EV world are going to prefer new. Shoot I had a chance at a 2023 XLT SR had a lot of extra features 20 inch wheels and work bed with step etc. had 18k miles wanted they wanted 41k. Instead went for the 2025 Flash brand new because it’s my first EV and I was nervous about getting used.
