That doesn’t make sense. By that time lots of 2022/23 will be not be paying $800+ a month for this “promise”. It was supposed to be released last year. I also don’t think I will keep this truck that long.
I was being sarcastic. I've only been on the forum for 3 months and have already discovered how the lack of BC updates is a sore subject.

Whatever they have at some point in time in 2026 will be exactly what they said they"d have no matter what it is. Better, sure, truly autonomous, probably under some limited conditions, "fully autonomous" under all conditions highly unlikely.

That's great, but BC 1.3 is now almost a year late. Their EV forecasts haven't hit any of the marks, so I'm not relying on anything they say at this point as bankable.
Autonomous Level 3 by 2026 seems awful ambitious.

I do love my BlueCruise, and Rivian doesn't even have a BlueCruise equivalent yet.

I would be happy with an update to BlueCruise this year, with automatic lane changing.

Ford / Farley is trying but I think they have a ways to go with software development/engineers.

They love the subscription model, just like Netflix! However the numbers don't really add up Netflix has 296 million subscribers while Ford sells 3.9 million cars a year. Self driving is kind of a party trick like self parking (how often do you use it?) so I don't think they will have enough users willing to pay enough to make a huge difference in their profitablity.

CEOs tend to be distracted by shiny things with lots of tech and buzzwords. What Ford needs to do is to figure out how to make the EVs more cheaply with improved range and faster charging. That is hard but essential to Ford's survival, it is becoming abundantly clear that we will not survive as a species if we keep burning fossil fuels and at some point we will see governmental action - or a complete collapse of the fossil fuel grid. I saw gas virtually disappear in two weeks back in the gas crisis.

This week, the air quality was so bad in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (Texas's equivalent of the EPA) asked motorists to forego driving as much as possible. And it's only the beginning of June. Usually, the worst air quality in San Antonio is around August through September, IIRC.

I love Blue Cruise and enjoying the 3 year subscription that came with my 2023, but if Ford wants me to pay for it, I want to see them deliver on their promised software updates. BC 1.3/1.4/2.0… show us that improvements are coming.

Farley seems like a charming dude, but he's saying things like this not for the customers, most of who simply don't care a single bit about Blue Cruise, but for the moronic financial/industry analysts who cover the company.

Whether its released in 2026 or 2136 no one will really care.....

Self driving is DOA for the foreseeable future, regardless of what the hysterical media and tech bros say (35 year tech industry person here writing this). Too much vapid hype around solving a problem that was never a problem, and is an incredibly difficult thing to engineer to be completely reliable and safe in all conditions.

I either have to pay attention when driving or I don't. If I have to pay attention, then all the FSD BS has zero value...

I like Farley but this truck can’t even stay inside the lanes with any amount of reliability, it simply cannot identify the lane and sitter smoothly to stay in it, if it’s still daunted by that then I don’t see their Level 3 getting approved anytime soon. There are a lot of other factors that need to be monitored and they just aren’t doing it.
im very disappointed in Blue Cruise and if I didn’t like Ford and have hopes of getting the 1.3 update I would be reporting this Blue Cruise 1.0 to the NHTSA where it belongs.

Although I don’t agree with your description of the current BC 1.0 capability, I do agree we are a long way from Level 3 Self Driving. Elon has been saying next year for the last 5 years and they still aren’t there yet.

I have nearly given up on seeing any updates to BC on our current Lightnings. 🙁
