Yes. We had to upgrade the wiring for 200a in the gateway but everything is working fine.

Did Tesla do the rewire? Or the charger installer?

Nope. Had our electrician do it. We also had to upgrade our electric panel from 100 to 200 because Tesla did not want to do that for us a couple years back. So far everything is working ok. Had all this done about 2 weeks ago.

Hello nubkub
I know this is the correct thread, but I've tried reaching out to you on 2023 thread powerwall and charger install.
Do you have any PICTURES( can you go to your old thread and post) of your tesla gateway ,powerwall and 80 amp charger.
My contractor is looking on where you hook up the DC cables from the charger to the gateway.
Thanks
Sorry for the long explanation on wrong thread

There is no reason to wire the charger into the gateway. The ford charger would be wired into your main breaker panel with a 100amp breaker. Generally, Tesla will wire the gateway/powerwall to feed the entire breaker panel, unless you are doing a critical load subpanel. There is no way at this time to use the trucks battery to backfeed your Tesla system. So, therefore you wore your charger just like any other household.

I understand how to wire my ford charger in my home panel (AC side of charger 240v 80amps)
The DC side of charger (2 #8awg) from charger get wired where?
I think they get wired into the inverter.
This should produce the power from the truck to the home inverter in DC than the inverter should change to AC which in turn would be
bi-directional and power the house.
I'm working on my service change / gateway / subpanel / transfer switch and ford 80amp charger the next to weekends.
I provide pictures for this install.
( I'm prepping all this work for my powerwall install later in the year,so Tesla only has to install powerwall and commission the home)
Thanks
I was just wondering if anyone had any pics.
Below diagram
Telsa website prep work to be done by home owner/ contractor
It can be done!

Don't think the DC side will work with tesla. It only works with Fords HIS. Don't hook the DC to anything.

Electric is electric!
How does electric (DC) know if the manufacturer is sunrun HIS brand or Tesla brand.

Actually it is the communication between the truck and the inverter which is proprietary to the HIS system. With out this communication the truck will not open up the dc contactor to supply current. The Tesla power wall does not have the ability to communicate with the truck and turn on the dc contactor

Now we are getting somewhere!
So (owner)nubkub
Had to put in a tesla wall charger than and somehow figured out how to communicate with the truck.
Maybe the new adapter I/we will receive will do this communication as well.
