Ford streaming "activation pending"

had my truck a week and tried to activate "ford streaming" as it's free for 30 days. might as well check it out. Ford.com says "activation pending" and has been stuck there for at least 4 days. anyone know what's up with that? I'll probably call Ford tomorrow

Not sure what your problem is, I also activated the streaming trial well after my original delivery date, it was free for the trial and decided to subscribe, performance is much better than me trying to share my cell data to the truck

call FMC cust support. the did a reset and is working, but it looks there is nothing there but what shows up on wifi and sure isn't worth $10/month. now on to experiment with several other things. learning something new every day!

Right, YouTube, and a couple of NBC streaming services is a bit underwhelming, I do a lot of YouTube video watching, it's good enough for my needs, worth ten bucks ..... probably not, but I blow more on other forms of entertainment...

Ford Streaming is really just cellular connectivity. If you're a mobile supervisor having to drive from site to site and needing to keep up a data connection the whole time, it's not a bad price. If you want a lot of the convenience without paying, and you can use your phone as a hotspot, you can use Apple Shortcuts to enable hotspot when carplay connects, and disable it on carplay disconnect. I'm sure Android has similar tools. This has been super useful as I only really need the connectivity on the occasional long road trip, so the kids can use the hotspot, and when charging we can watch youtube, and since it's not a regular thing, I don't go over my hotspot data cap.
