I left my truck inside my garage just not plugged in for safety purposes. I will be outside the country for two weeks and it’s been only 5 days now and this is what I am getting!
I am guessing this is because the 12v battery is about to die.
Has anyone else experienced this??
@Ford Motor Company what the heck!!!! My HV battery is fine! Why not just charge the 12v with the HV battery in cases like this?? 🤷‍♂️

It will charge eventually from the high voltage battery, it shouldn’t die. I agree, it should be kept at a higher state of charge, but I think it charges sooner if you leave it plugged in.

That’s good info! I will wait and see if it really charges the 12v battery from the HV.

My Ford app gave me the same indication earlier this week I think. At least some time in the last couple weeks. 84 percent charge and zero range. Really gets your attention. Closed the app did a refresh and had no change. So went out to the truck and started it up. Showed 84 percent and 277 miles range.

No issues since then so not sure if waking the truck up “fixed” it or there was some glitch between the truck and app. Hoping it does not reoccur.

interesting you had the same indication so it is not just me. BTW my test for the 12v battery is to start in accessory mode. If the display says Full accessory power available then I “assume”the 12v is good. Might not be a valid assumption however. Someone may chime in on that.

You are fine, it's a new bug. If you have a valid % but 0 miles it's the bug and just ignore it and go off what is in vehicle. Obviously with you being away that's harder but I can assure you that it's a bug and your truck is fine

I think my 12v battery is getting to an end. It only charges up to 85% SoC.

Every time you wake up the truck to check, you are draining the 12v...

I turned my truck on and it fixed the issue. No problem since then.

Yep had same thing yesterday. Drove it around the block and miles to empty populated accurately on the app.

Additionally, It would be helpful, if you could fill in your profile with exactly which F-150 you have. Age, trim level, build . .

😅I left mine at airport while I was visiting relatives. About 3 days in I got the zero mile indication but then I closed the app and reopened it And it changed. On the 4th day I could only see statistics from that last event. The app would not communicate with the trucK. When I got back 3 days later I was sweating bullets the damn thing was dead. Walked up hit the unlock and she lit up immediatly. Seems the truck just hibernates to save the battery and waits for FOB command.

I keep my 12v battery on a trickle charger to avoid premature death (its, not mine).

Deep discharge, which the lightning algorithm allows, is not good for longevity of these batteries, and the high charging currents seen when the battery is low, are another bad feature of the lightning system of 12v battery management.

This post form the Mach-e forum goes into depth about these 12v AGM batteries:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-recondition-service-your-12v-battery.11069/

And this one about the different ways to charge up the battery to get OTAs:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-get-failed-otas-to-install.29749/

Also several threads here about putting trickle chargers on the battery and how to make it easier by adding a trickle charger wire:

https://www.f150lightningforum.com/forum/threads/charging-12v-battery.16979/

This is what I did - I put a wire with an SAE plug on one end through a small hole I drilled next to the charge port hinge where it would not damage anything, and ran it to the battery compartment where I attached it to a fused wire with ring terminals that would fit the 6mm bolts:

Connect the negative trickle charger wire downstream of the BMS sensor so that the system knows the battery has been charged as shown below:

Thank you for putting that all in one place...
