Can confirm fog lights have no effect on glare-free or auto high beams.

Um... did you put all your switches on the cover over the driver side knee airbag?See link in my signature for how I did mine.

While I have yet to confirm, I believe it's on the BDM - I just have to enable it in Forscan.... and run my own wires... and... and.... *sigh*I just spent some time in Europe this November, and in between other business I actually visited a Ford dealership which had an imported F150 on the lot.
I am a big fan of rear fog lights ever since my 1991 BMW (US spec) fit which this was an option. I added them later to my Ford Fusion / "Mondeo" and to my Mach E Mustang.
Unfortunately, their F150 was a North America spec vehicle. The smart tech said that the only two Euro countries with significant F150 Lightning presence are Norway and Switzerland... and neither of these countries is in the EU. Therefore, Ford Corporate had chosen to so far not to field rear fog lights or Euro-style outside mirror glass for the F150 as there is no market demand yet for EU-mandated safety gear.
...and finagle non-standard lights as Ford didn't (yet) bother to make any. While I have yet to confirm, I believe it's on the BDM - I just have to enable it in Forscan.... and run my own wires... and... and.... *sigh*
Sounds like you should've done everyone a favor and enabled the glare free on the loaner. When I was driving the Powerboost loaner while my battery was having a module replaced I ran with the fogs on because I couldn't stand the extra darkness at the edge of the road when the brights weren't on. Gotten too used to my glare-free setup providing light away from the on-coming traffic so I can spot the eyes of the 4-legged, sometimes-antlered critters that tend to leap without looking both ways first.
If I still had an active Forscan account and had kept the truck for more than 3 days, it might have happened.Sounds like you should've done everyone a favor and enabled the glare free on the loaner.
How long do you think it'd take for anyone to notice?
Where on the front do you plan on mounting them? Also, do you know if the wiring you found will keep the fogs on with the high beams?I think I'm going to get some SAE-Fog spec lights from Diode Dynamics for the front, and I'm going to have to think about rear options.
In most (all?) modern cars if there is an empty fuse slot there aren't any terminals to connect a fuse, that being said, most people will run a fuse tap on an 'on powered' fuse in the box, are you wanting to use a switch or do you want them to stay powered with the truck?I ordered 5 blue led lighted round rocker switches from amazon for 9 bux. They are the 3 wire type. Probably mount my lights and run a fused 12 gauge wires from the lights to a nearby ground and then connect the two hots and run a single 12 gauge hot up front.
Where in the fire wall can I run any wires through?
Do these need any type of relay and if so what type and why and where does it wire into the circuit?
Also are there any spots in the fuse box I can stick a fuse with wire coming from it?
Thanks.
Thanks. I have a few of those fuse tap deals but the trick is finding a place where the cover will go back on. I may mount those lights this afternoon with a temporary switch but just need to see where to go around behind the frunk and through the firewall. I may just clip them to the battery just to see how they do for a start. In most (all?) modern cars if there is an empty fuse slot there aren't any terminals to connect a fuse, that being said, most people will run a fuse tap on an 'on powered' fuse in the box, are you wanting to use a switch or do you want them to stay powered with the truck?
For OP, probably late to the party but in the DIY ACC thread the harness they ordered came with a fog lamp harness but I couldn't say whether it actually works or not, just that the wiring exists.
If you want to run your own physical switch you don't even need a fuse tap, you can wire it directly to the battery, but you'll have to remember to turn them off too.Thanks. I’ll probably put them up front near the air intake but not blocking it. As for brights? NO. fog lamps are not meant to be used like that. SAE approved ones are designed to give a wide low spread in fog…. You use them with dipped lights.Where on the front do you plan on mounting them? I am a huge fan of these style switch panels. Direct battery power, relay abd fuses included, remote control, etc.Thanks.
