Quick update: Went to the dealer today to get the sensor looked at. When I made the appt., I requested a loaner. I sure got a lot of text messages to ensure I was on time for my appt.
I showed up 10 mins early. Conversation went juse like this:
"Hi, good morning. Checking in...." blah blah
"OK, great. I see you requested a loaner. We definitely don't have any today and won't until probably mid-week. Do you want to leave it here or reschedule?"
"How long does it take to at least get a diagnostic?"
"Usually about 24-48 hours."
"I'll reschedule."
Now, I certainly thought, "Your automated system reached out to me at 3x. Why couldn't anyone tell me you didn't have a loaner before I took time away from work and my family to come over here for literally no reason?" But I took a breath and decided that it probably wasn't this poor girl's fault and she can't do anything about it anyway. A younger me would've had something to say. The current me said I'm gonna turn lemons into lemonade and, since I took part of the day off anyway anticipating some type of delay, I'm going to the driving range. Ha
Venting but also sharing a dealer interaction from a new Ford owner. That is my first experience with the brand outside of leasing the truck.
Sensor update for those following along: Remote started today. Same issue still persists. I did find find last week that, following a remote start, if I come to a complete stop and then stomp on the go pedal, it clears the error until the next remote start. Busting through the invisible wall it thinks I'm going to hit I suppose?
