Update: it's back. Seems to trigger when remote starting from my phone. I'll reset LVB again but making an appt with a dealer. I can't not use remote start with then winter coming. 400 miles on the truck.

I'm curious if it is consistently repeatable. If you can show the technician that it is repeatable, he can take that to the Ford engineers. ie. 12v reset, its fine, climate start, problem shows up.

It seems to be. That's my plan.

I'll update once I hear something official to keep it all documented.

Quick update: Went to the dealer today to get the sensor looked at. When I made the appt., I requested a loaner. I sure got a lot of text messages to ensure I was on time for my appt.

I showed up 10 mins early. Conversation went juse like this:

"Hi, good morning. Checking in...." blah blah

"OK, great. I see you requested a loaner. We definitely don't have any today and won't until probably mid-week. Do you want to leave it here or reschedule?"

"How long does it take to at least get a diagnostic?"

"Usually about 24-48 hours."

"I'll reschedule."

Now, I certainly thought, "Your automated system reached out to me at 3x. Why couldn't anyone tell me you didn't have a loaner before I took time away from work and my family to come over here for literally no reason?" But I took a breath and decided that it probably wasn't this poor girl's fault and she can't do anything about it anyway. A younger me would've had something to say. The current me said I'm gonna turn lemons into lemonade and, since I took part of the day off anyway anticipating some type of delay, I'm going to the driving range. Ha

Venting but also sharing a dealer interaction from a new Ford owner. That is my first experience with the brand outside of leasing the truck.

Sensor update for those following along: Remote started today. Same issue still persists. I did find find last week that, following a remote start, if I come to a complete stop and then stomp on the go pedal, it clears the error until the next remote start. Busting through the invisible wall it thinks I'm going to hit I suppose?

To close the loop on this in case anyone experiences something similar: I just got the truck back today from the dealer. Was able to finally secure a loaner. They had it 10 days. Initially, they said they couldn't reproduce the error.

I gave them a video when I dropped it off, and explicitly left in my notes that it occurs while plugged in. All they had to do to replicate it was plug it in. They never did (at least as far as I could tell from the app). When the service rep reached out to tell me they couldn't replicate, I reiterated how I get the issue to start. They still never plugged it in, but he said they were magically able to get it to replicate. They wound up replacing 2 front passenger sensors.

Remote started today to head to the airport, and it worked without issue.

Hope it sticks!

Overall, I love the truck, but I was left a little disappointed by the dealer and service experience.

Intermittent problems are hard to diagnose. In your case, it was repeatable, and persistence is what was needed. Hopefully, that's your glitch and you'll have years of trouble-free driving now.

The sensor issue is weird. They are actually sensing something. If they were erroring out they would be maxed out as in showing red on screen and beeping solid as if you were about to hit something.

The cam error is not abnormal. The front camera is the one top center of the windshield.

If its fogged or morning dew that can happen.
