Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue. Whether I open it with the key fob, the FordPass App, or the button in the cab, it seems about a third of the time it becomes non-responsive after it's opened. I end up having to close it manually. Thank god I'm a pretty big guy (6'2)... if I was shorter, I wouldn't be able to reach it without a step.

Anyway, AI says it could be a signal issue. That made me think about my use of the App in general. When I use it to remotely start and unlock the truck (it's a 2022 Lariat) before I walk out from wherever I am, there's about a 25% chance it won't connect. Many times I've just gotten the spinning wheel of doom, so I end up walking up to the truck and just doing everything manually. Not a big deal, really. Just a minor inconvenience.

Wondering if this is just normal and I am simply not aware of that. Obviously I'm able to use the truck just fine. When the app doesn't connect, or the frunk doesn't want to listen to the input from whatever button I try, I just manually handle it and move along. I had a F-150 Limited for years, so doing things manually is pretty normal for me. But curious if anyone else's App or Frunk just seems to occasionally prefer to take a nap rather than do what I ask.

It's wrong, it's always wrong, stop using this dumb shit.

If you leave the frunk open for a long time it can power off and needs to be closed manually.

I just received a frunk update last night, wonder if you had that yet and maybe it'll fix your problem if it's not just timing out. Could be the module or low 12v.

App connectivity is a different problem, unless it's 12v related, do you have strong cell service where you are?

Sometimes I find the button on the Frunk lid has to be pressed twice before it responds, but the button in the cab has always worked with one press.

There was a Frunk related customer service program update not too long ago related to the Frunk problems some were having.

If the cab button is not working, then it would seem to me to be an electrical problem, not an app/connection/signal problem.

Such as, loose wiring, bad sensor, bad switch, bad something related to the motor that moves the Frunk lid, etc.

Good luck.

Yes, mine has acted up a few times recently. It does not completely close. It has been intermittent and not repeatable on demand so I am still watching it.

Just a quick follow up to this thread...

As I reflected on this thread, I think the issues started after me manually pulling the frunk down a few times because I didn't feel like digging the phone out of my pocket and didnt think about it, I just grabbed it and shut it. For the last few days I've been doing whatever I have to do to avoid manually closing the lid as a sort of experiment. Once or twice a day I just go open the frunk and then try to close it.

It's just a working theory and something to play around with. But instead of manually closing it, I try multiple times to use the button on the frunk. If no luck, I try the button beside the steering wheel. If that doesn't work, I try the app. Usually one of the three will work. And for the last 2 days, whenever I hit the button on the frunk, it seems to work the very first time I touch it.

So I honestly think it just doesnt like being manually closed. It wants the system to do it somehow. I could be way off, like I said, just a theory so far. Will continue to tinker and see what happens.

I think so. Up until Tuesday I had all updates on automatic.

Any way to check for that specific one?

I used FDRS to update mine along with 2 other modules showing an update available. Mine is set to auto also.
