Getting really hot while AC charging

Hey everyone, I have a 2024 F150 lightning I purchased new a little over a year ago that now has 38K miles on it.

I ran it down to about 8 percent yesterday and plugged it in. Came out this morning and it was still charging, that’s not the unusual part. The fans were running full boar. I unplugged the truck at about 80% (usually charge to 90) and looked at the temp gauge (see the attached photo). Is this normal. I am in central Florida and ambient temp right now is 86.

I’ve also noticed the battery heat start to spike a bit while driving longer stretches on the highway.

Even on my last road trip , dc fast charging in 98 degrees just barely above center and within 10 minutes of stopping it returned to center. Something is not right with your cooling system.

There is very little temperature change from center to the top of the acceptable range. After DCFC last week, my truck’s gauge was about where yours was. The battery reported being 110°F. After driving for a bit, and the gauge reined to center, it reported being 98°F.

The only time I see mine that high is after it's been baking in the parking lot all day in 105F. I agree with others, something is likely wrong with the cooling system.

Anything in between the [ brackets ] is normal temps. Make sure your reservoir is topped off and keep rolling.

Was your truck preconditioning at the time? If you came home with a heat soaked battery and plugged it in at that ambient temperature all night, it’s not impossible the battery was still hot and trying to cool down the battery and cabin before you’re timed departure.
