Since Ford announced cancellation of the lightning I have actually seen several more on the road. There definitely is a price point. I just think the younger generations - say 45 and under wisely view cars as depreciating assets and just look for the cheapest vehicle to meet their needs and a nice EV f150 flash at $60k with 0% interest seems to be the sweet spot for many.

The past few years I would see the same 4-5 lightings - this year I can’t keep count and only recognize about 3- the rest I’ve never seen. If I was guessing I would say 25-30 new ones this year. Metro Atlanta area.

Ford F-150 Lightning GM Pauses production on two EV's flash-mem

Bingo! This was me, and I really wanted a Lightning when it was announced. I just couldn't justify a 100k truck (and over MSRP initially). If they would have come out with the Flash at 60k in 2022 I would have bought one then....

I read the article and it doesn't mention anything about the Cadillac products like the Escalade IQ and IQL. Are those made on a different line and share little to no sub-assemblies outside of the battery pack?

Which 2 ev's??
The article doesn't specifically say. 🙄 I assume the Hummer and Silverado but the article also talks about the Sierra. And it's a two week extension of a pause already in effect, so not necessarily the end times just yet.

Given the way oil prices are headed I wouldn't make any major cuts just now, but then again I'm not an auto industry insider.

Some EVs and hybrids are seeing an uptick in sales with the price of gasoleum on the rise probably having some part in it counter-acting the elimination of the federal tax credit to some extent.

If things get worse in the middle-east and the supply of earth-destroying-dinosaur-goop dwindles even more, it'll be even better for EVs, and solar installs too, since eventually the fuel costs will hit the electricity bill.

I don't plan to buy another truck soon - unless I can get a Silverado EV with a midgate real cheap - like at a government auction. But that truck would have my attention.
Seems the management sets a path and ignores what is going on. With $4 gas I would expect buyers to be switching to EVs - or at least that it would be easy to advertise and push the EVs. I love my F150 Lightning Lariat and I don't have to worry about gasoline prices... just whether electricity prices are rising.
