Anyone receive a letter from Ford this past month? Just got one titled "Harvest Program 25H02"

Ford is evaluating specific modules within the high-voltage battery. Ford would like to replace these parts on your vehicle, free of charge, and conduct further analysis of these high-voltage battery modules to better understand field performance and functionality.
I can't really go without my vehicle (work), and I had heard battery module replacement services can take multiple days/I don't think there are vehicle loaners available at my nearby dealers.

Yeah, there was a thread on that but it got lost with the site issues last week. You're the new thread owner!

Ah, didn't know that happened (first time logging in for months). Any recall of anyone doing it/how long is took?

It's brand new so iirc no one had it completed. I think @Mike G posted the tech bulletin. Dealer is supposed to pre-order module(s) and have them ready when you bring it in but again iirc the few folks who called the dealer said the dealer told them they needed the truck first. But I may be confusing this with the misaligned electrodes recall.

It was a very small number of trucks affected.

It was a very small number of trucks affected.

I got the same letter, according to an old thread that got wiped there was 299 trucks affected.

I was a bit reluctant to do this considering my truck have been very good to me and my SoH is still 100% (fictive number, sure, but all the variation data is low too, so...).

But then I saw that this is most likely connected to the recall and that my modules are manufactured within the time frame where there could be an alignment issue.

So do I fix what's not broken in the hopes of avoiding what might not be entirely correct, or do I just say, thanks but no thanks, I like it just the way it is.

Program runs until June next year, so I suppose there's no immediate rush to make your mind up.

They want to dissect 300 specific modules out of perhaps 100,000 that have been purchased.

It seems to me before the customer goes in for service the dealer should be all prepared for the replacement based on the VIN, and the owner's name, thus a couple of days.

Disappointing that 25H02 doesn't address loaners and other services at least on this document.

This is weird. It seems like Ford is saying, we just want to dissect your truck and take a look at your battery guts just because.
That is exactly what they're doing. New technology needs beta testers. Welcome to that world.

I received it yesterday. I contacted my dealer to schedule a date. I also reached out to my engineering contacts at Ford to coordinate their regional EV SME to shadow with the dealer to ensure it’s done right.

I have had no power train or battery issues for 2.5 years - certainly don’t want inexperienced dealer tech risking changing that streak.

What's your reasoning for doing it ?
Also, did your contacts give you any indication whether or not you should do this for any reason besides helping out ?

Well, my reasoning for doing it is - if Ford is willing to replace some critical components that have 2 1/2 years of wear on them for free, I’m willing to let them do that as long as they have the right techs working it.

Also, as a systems engineer myself, I understand the value they can get out of analyzing components over time, and if it helps to make their next generation products even better, it would be nice to be a small part of that.

And no, my contacts didn’t give me any indication there is a critical need to have it done.

We’ve been working pretty closely with the model E team, and I’ve gotten to know many of their staff, including their chief engineer for lightning.

Most regions have EV engineering subject matter experts that will do training and work with dealerships on repairs - I was just taking advantage of my contacts to ensure my dealer has an EV subject matter expert on hand when they do the harvesting.

They would’ve probably reached out to them anyway - I’m just doing a proactively.

You gotta get your Ford engineer friends on this forum to help us out then :)
