Having a truck stuck at the Rail Yard is the WORST!

I think I have you all beat. Mine has been sitting at a rail yard 1 mile away from my dealer (and 10 miles away from my home) for a week. It blows my mind that they can't just drive it over to the dealer without loading it on a transport.

Ford knows the one mile of depreciation may make you reconsider your purchase, they are playing it safe.

I know what it’s like to have a new vehicle from Ford stuck for a little bit after “Built”. Keep in mind I finally got to pick up my Bronco on October 7th. I’m preparing for the same with my Lightning and if it’s any better, I will be pleasantly surprised. Hopefully not any worse.

I got to drive my last F150 off the assembly line and then had to wait over a week for it to get shipped about 50 miles. When it came in it had shipping damage.

We left our Mach-E for 14 days while on vacation and when we came back, it had only drop 1%. I think you will be fine.

I tried to see if I could trade with one of the mannequins in the area of the same build. I didn't even care about the color at this point, but because of Ford putting the no sale clause on that's not an option.

No idea about my truck. The last visibility report I got was 2 days ago and it didn't have any new information on it. It was supposed to leave on the 18th, but I have no way to verify that. I did a request with Ford pass, at least if someone denies it, then I'll know it either made it back or it was loaded to leave. I'm going to call railyard on Monday and see what they can tell me.

I'm sure you are like me, each day that goes by just irritates me a little bit more than the previous day.

Don’t know if you saw my other posts but someone activated mine yesterday. The last activity I had was a denial on the 22nd May. So I dont know if I’ve been in same lot entire time.
a little concerned that I have 89 test miles. No action today.
when they activated it set off my Apple Watch so I was able to pop open app to see it was on road just outside parking lot.

while I’m not thrilled with process I think things could be better in the information sharing.

lets face it they know every lot # of all the parts in each vin - so they know where trucks are parked and why.

something tells me I will get a call this weekend that my truck is there. You know less than 5 days after the deadline for the $500 gift card and the extra electrify America’s time. Also my family will be in town and I will not be able to make the 6 hour trip to get my truck until the following week.

Activate your ford app and see if you can start it. Then drive and drop it off at the dealer. Must’ve been delivered overnight!

Now I’m living vicariously through your threads as I wait on my lightning build date…

The best news is I’ve had the car now for five months and with 24,000 miles on it it is an amazing vehicle. I know Ford learned a few things from product launching the MME.

Just an update…MMEGT @ 35100 in Service Dept waiting for Contactor replacement (recall). In the 8/15 Railyard Hell Part 2 with a great many of you . Two delivery date postponements and likely a third coming this week as it is DAY 30 from original plan and DAY 33 at the rail yard, “on hold”. ??‍

@DrOctane how were you able to find out why it’s on hold? Ford chat and dealer hasn’t been able to tell me why my truck has been sitting at the final rail yard for over a month now. My current ETA is almost two months late from the original estimate.

UnitedRoad (final shipper) lists vehicle as “On Hold”. It’s standard operating procedure when an FSE has to inspect a particular component — be it a software or hardware item. I have a good idea why as well. Doesn’t fix the problem any quicker. About as much fun as watching a Chevy rust… it’s a deja vu for me, as the MMEGTPE went through this last year…
Growing up, mom used to say “A watched pot doesn’t boil”. Just gotta be patient. ??‍

My blend date was 8/16 and I got the shipped email 8/30. It’s currently been at the railyard 30min from the dealership for a little over 5 weeks. Ford support and my dealer have no information other than that it’s been “received on ramp 46 in Albany” my friend had a lightning built the same week as mine shipped to the same dealer and he took delivery of his a little over 3 weeks ago. Just very frustrating.
