WOW my 2022 Lightnings brakes are at 60,000 miles and still going strong. Well I’m on my fourth F150, I usually have to change the brakes every 15,000 to 25,000 miles. My last check up state I have 7mm left on all 4 of the pads. I live in hilly Northern California and tow a small dump trailer once a week. I think the Ford engineers must have missed a decimal point when designing the brake and regen system. Thank you for actually over engineering this component. You should consider upgrading your gas trucks to a similar system.

It's not the brakes, it's the regeneration that happens when you come off the accelerator, or push on the brake pedal.

The #1 reason for having to replace EV pads before 100,000 miles or more is lack of use. Make sure you use the emergency brake now and then, and also shift to N, then apply the brakes once in a while, so they don't rust.

I’d argue road salt usage is a bigger problem than lack of use , delamination and brakes seizing and pad rust jacking occurs every 2-4 years in the salt belt on average only the vehicles driven everyday often get more life than that in the salt belt

Just an FYI, OP is from California and in CA, Cal Trans and County Road Departments dont use Salt they use clay and gravel so its not an issue.

I also live in the mountains and drive 15 miles down hill to the flat lands and see minimal pad wear and I dont use 1 pedal mode because driving that distance gives me a 10% battery gain.

This great to know - I'm very hard on brakes - had 2 vehicles yrs ago where I ruined front rotors at only 20K miles! Also wife's QX60 already had rear brake pads replaced at 20K - its a known problem and luckily we were alerted by INFINITY tech pads were skinny. This is great info on LIGHTNING - thanks!
