Increased Range?

Just for fun I topped off the 2023 Platinum to 100 %. Range estimate is 324 Miles. It seems either the charging is allowing more usage of the gross capacity or the estimate is off. Usually get about 2.1 Miles / KWH.

I shoot for 3 miles/1% of charge. To do that takes weather above 45-48F and an average speed of about 48 mph. Headwinds, rain, speed, cabin heat, cold, all play havoc with efficiency. Seat heat & steering wheel heat ok.

Nowhere. Just that funny, fictitious number changed.

For travel I mentally budget 2 miles / 1% charge to make sure I have enough to get to the next charger.

Yeah, replying back haha.
Took a longer 5 hr trip (one way) to do some trout fishing in Western Maryland.
With all the backroads, tons of camping gear/outdoor stuff, and elevation changes. I learned that the range estimation on this truck is not even worth paying attention to.
Ive had lots of experience with Tesla, and you can select either battery %, or range in Miles. Their guess is way better, and seemed to actually reflect correctly.
I had my truck showing 65 miles left with 39% battery. Wish we could turn off those miles and just have %, at least thats just a real number value and not some crazy fortune lady ford relies on for the range estimations. Good rule of thumb tho is 2Miles per kWh pack size. So for my 131kwh I usually get a good 262 miles safely.
