Hi,

I've got a 2024 Lightning Lariat and just noticed something that didn't seem right. There's no tailgate bracket on the left side of my tailgate. The holes are there, but no bracket. Can someone verify if this is normal? I just noticed it today and I've had it for 6 months now. Haven't had any problems but it just caught my eye. Thanks for any input.

Mu 2024 Lightning Platinum also only has the bracket on the right side. Missing on driver side.

Took the truck end of 3/25, same as yours. So that should be it.

My MY2023 Lariat only has one bracket. The tailgate does not have a hole to accommodate bracket on left side. Since tailgate is hinged at both ends, not sure it structural. Maybe a tailgate postion sensor? Something needed for pwr tailgate.

I'm pretty sure I have seen other post(s) about this, and it was concluded as normal...

My XLT has those left side mounting provisions blocked off, but the passenger side open; which makes sense since I have a basic manual tailgate.

So I was backing out of my driveway today in my Mustang and as I got behind the lightning I noticed two holes underneath the tailgate on the drivers side that I swear were not there before. On the passenger side is there are two bolts and what looks to be a bracket. Did I loose something or are the holes supposed to be there? Besides what is that bracket for? I have attached two pics. The first one is the drivers side. The second is the passenger.

Mine has the bracket on the passenger side and nothing on the driver's side. No holes or bracket.

Yep, normal.

One of the more recent discussions (there's a few more).

EDIT: Mod moved it.

Thanks, Its weird, I never noticed the holes before and they look to be threaded. Any idea what the bracket is for? I may try to run over to the dealership tomorrow and just see what the other F-150s there look like for comparison.

I don't have anything in those holes on either side, truck is brand new and I have a manual tailgate, not powered. 25 Flash.

Thanks mine is a ‘23 with the powered tailgate. From the link posted above it seems the passenger side bracket is do the wires to pass through for the power tailgate.
