Probably screwed myself opting for the new Stone Gray color. Coming to terms that I will probably have the last MY23 scheduled/delivered, lol.
Stone Grey is not new. It was available with MY22.

Well that's good news, must've missed it when I looked in Wave 4. So they only added that off white and ugly chalk blue for MY23?
Yes, Avalanche and Azure Grey Metallic.

I hope you're wrong cause I ordered Stone Gray....Does it take extra chips to mix ?

I'm still sorting through the Smart Hitch/Scale dilemma . Ordered XLT SR 8/11 and dealer said they let you in for the Tow Tech so why not see what happens.... I thought they stripped it out when I ordered but it doesn't look like it....I don't even want it....just wanted the hitch and brake controller.....
Damn this event is so much of a pain in the ass to figure out...
Happy I have an order though....
Cheers
Trying to figure out if there is an order combo that will get you an acceptable truck at the ideal time will drive you crazy. I know, because it is driving me crazy.

I was wave 1 for '23, after deferring from wave 2 for '22. If I could have tweaked a Pro or XLT order to receive a truck by 12/31, guaranteed, I would have done it (probably). But I didn't like my odds for either, given Ford's projected timeframes and past delays. So I have ordered my ideal Pro configuration and given myself over to fate (and a presumably long wait).

But if you don't want the scales, and you want your truck sooner rather than later, you may want to ask your dealer to try remove just the scales. You can keep the portion of the tow tech package that has the brake controller and save $650 off the package price (and, theoretically, have a shot at getting your truck this year).

Well you shouldn't let it drive you crazy but that's easy for me to say. We really can't control the process or figure out the attack. I'm a numbers guy than overthinks and over plans everything. So yeah...this drives me nuts if I let it. Perfect for me would be 1st quarter next year for tax reasons. I just want to know the variables for planning. Ain't gonna happen....
I was Pro or nothing at first...don't want anything beyond 311 XLT for a truck we'll see what shakes out!
Cheers,Scott

Instructions for finding VIN are here, I didn't search any further for the original post, this is one version. You can do this with Safari or other browsers too, you just have to poke around a bit to find the options that may be named something different.

Edit - this is for finding your VIN after you know you have a production date. It won't find your production date.

So, I was in wave 2 (I think) of the delayed order reservations and placed my order on 8/30/22. I think I could have placed it a week earlier, but I didn't know it was open until I got the email and then it took me 5-ish days to make up my mind, but waiting hasn't seem to have caused much if any delay in my production.

-- 2023MY Lightning Lariat Extended Battery w/ Max Trailer Tow Package and no other options.

(I was told by my dealer that certain options like the spray-in-bedliner could significantly delay production so I didn't order it and there really aren't any other options for the Lariat trim that can't be bought later)

I just got a scheduled production date week of 10/17/22.

For reference, my original reservation was put in 5/19/21 which I think was the first day they were open.

I'm posting just in case this helps others in predicting where they are in the order process. I was a little concerned that my production date would slip into next year which would cause me to lose the tax rebate, but it's looking ok so far. I'm honestly a little surprised it's such an early date, but I was a day 1 reservation holder so maybe I just have a good queue position.

Interesting as I reserved my Lariat extended range with tow package on 05-21-21 and got confirmation of going into production wk of 08-06-22. However no updates since last
Ford email on scheduling delivery....making me nervous its now month plus since went into production. I also opted NOT to add any options that the dealer could add to not delay production. Waiting patiently for delivery

I reserved 5/20. Second day of reservation opening. I extended my reservation when I was called and told I could order thIs past April. Only Lariat and Platinum were available. I ordered an XLT on August 24th. I wanted to order a Pro but those were sold out again. I don’t have a production date yet though. That’s ok. I need to save up more money for a down payment!!!

Nothing yet, sitting at priority 01 with my dealer
My priority code was 19 (worst possible at a dealer), and I got scheduled. Not much rhyme or reason to alot of this.

Dealers can only set priority codes 10-19 though as I understand.
