So this happened.....probably reason for no updates, my truck is at 22326.

Special Service Message 53966 - 2021-2025 Various Vehicles - SYNC4 - General System Performance And Stability - Programming No Longer Available

Jun 20 2025 Some 2021-2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may not be able to perform an update to the accessory protocol interface module (APIM).

This may be due to the software in the APIM. Ford Engineering has de-activated the ability to update these SYNC 4 APIM modules and as applicable, the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) will not present an update for the APIM module. Some existing directed repairs may be impacted, check OASIS before attempting any specific TSB repairs and landing pages before attempting any specific FSA repairs. For any vehicles repairs requiring a software update that includes an APIM update in the programming sequence, if the 5-digit product code for the APIM software is equal to or lower than 23187, do not attempt to update affected modules at this time. To determine the 5-digit product code for the APIM software on the vehicle, while the vehicle center display screen is powered up with ignition in run or accessory, go to General Settings > Select About SYNC. Find the 5-digit code, example “ SYNC 4, Software Version: 23187_PRODUCT”.

That’s the same version I am stuck on.

I think that’s the version I’m on.. when did they post this message? Jun 20 2025 seems like a while ago.

Its so crazy.. I helped MANY people get passed that version when I could. There is literally no reason they cant release the updates.

I would love to hear it..

I just know back when I could Once the gateway installed, it was LkJ strategy file that had to be updated for the ICE trucks. Once it reported all updates came after. No install issues and in fact a few got the EL APIM update via OTA. Every Truck as soon a LKJ was reported as the strategy the update sequence hit no issues. I helped a few Mach E get passed it also. I want to say it was LKJ for the Mach E also.

Oh well Im sure there is a reason. I never encountered a reason to not do them though.

Good luck with them trying to open a ticket with engineering. Your dealer will receive a paper that says “there is no updates for your truck at this time”
The OTA team is helpful (only one guy) but they can’t do anything. That’s up to the dealer and ford and they won’t do anything.

Is this something we can apply our selves, in any way? We have 1000 imported trucks in the EU, by Ford, that is stuck on 22326.
I used to be able to help.. I cant anymore.
