Key Detection not working

I know many curse the horns honking when the Lightning detects a truck running without a key present. Fortunately FMC allows us to disable it. But, I for one, like it but recently mine quit working. I have disabled it and turned it back on and it does nothing. I have PAAK enable but it doesn't matter whether I have my phone with me or not, I get no horn honks. Before I request a service call, anyone else seen this issue?

Mine only beeps if I lock the truck first before closing the door. If I use the keypad it doesn't and just locks.

Do you have a fob hidden in the truck? I had one in a faraday bag and it suddenly started getting detected. Had to double-bag it.

So, I am not alone. sounds like a recent update changed something. I'll be setting up a service call this week. will post here what I find out.

truck running without a key present.

I misread earlier, mine has never beeped when running with no key unless I try to lock the key in it. My walkaway lockimg is disabled.

Mine only honks if I exit and I close the door while truck is on, reminding me that the truck is still on.

My 2023 Pro "chimes" once if I lock it while it is running.
I used FORscan to enable 'silent mode' - before that it used to honk which I found to be too loud.

My related issue is that once in awhile the truck will chime continuously when I shut it off and open the door with no indication of what’s wrong. Cycling power seems to clear the issue.

update: it's working again. not sure why. Troubleshooting I disconnected my phone from PAAK. Key Detect still not working. turned KD off and back on. Still not working. Turned it off again and drove the truck for perhaps a week. Turned KD back on. now it works! ?????? What happened after that was very interesting as I was able to drive the car without PAAK or a keyfob!!!!! But I will start a new thread as this was puzzling. look for "driving without a fob or PAAK"

Have you replaced your 12v battery yet? I noticed you have a 2023 and it seems 3 years is where lots of people start having anomalous issues that eventually get resolved with a new battery.
