This is by far the most informative and kind forum I have I come across. I have spent numerous hours researching and reading threads and comments. Thank you all for creating this wonderful community. A little bit about me: I am an active duty service member out of the Virginia area. I am willing to travel almost anywhere in the states for this truck. I say almost anywhere as I plan on driving it back and would prefer to avoid such distances such as CA, AZ, Oregon, etc. My current old car is starting to give me problems and I would rather get a truck before the year is over, otherwise I may have to look into something else that fits my needs if my vehicle stops working.
Now let me go straight to my issue. I have a reservation that was made on the 29th of May (yes, I know I was late to the party and most won't feel sorry for me) but I'm extremely excited about having an opportunity to buy Ford's first fully electric F-150. I have come to terms with the fact that I will not receive a MY22 Lightning. I have already gone through 3 dealerships in different states avoiding ADMs, or dealers with very low allocations. Now I am #53 out of a Kansas dealer from what I believe. I am interested in only ordering the Pro trim as that is what fits my budget best. I will however upgrade to the XLT trim if I absolutely have to, or only in the case that this makes the difference in maybe getting a truck this year. Otherwise I'll wait for the Pro in MY23 which is what I really want. Can others with late reservations like me share their experiences and advice on what they are doing? What state/dealer/area should I be looking to transfer my reservation to boost my chances at getting a truck for MY23? With all the mysteries and confusions from Ford I know that this is all just guessing and making decisions with limited information. I am just looking at this forum for feedback before I give up on this truck. I know that I have plenty of people ahead of me who took action as soon as reservations opened. I also know that I will not be prioritized by any dealer so I just have to wait my turn. But if you were me, I want to hear to which state would you move it to join others like me in this quest to buy such as special car.
*This is my first post. If I need to move this or modify it in any way, please let me know as I would like to be a respectful member that positively contributes to the forum.
