Hopefully this was an isolated incident and there was a reason for it.

The guy in the passenger seat looked like he was wearing fire gear?? Plus I agree how would you know that quickly it was a BEV when driving by it while it was burning on the highway?
kind of weird!

Who would leave an expensive truck abandoned in the middle of nowhere? How did that person abandon it? Did they walk through the snowy forest on foot? Did they get a ride but couldn't push the Ford Assistance button to get a tow even though all Fords come with 3 years of free roadside assistance?

If the fire just started, the owner would still be there right? Do these guys want us to believe that an abandoned Lightning spontaneously caught fire sometime after being abandoned in the middle of nowhere?

Insurance fraud? Who knows, nothing adds up.

Yea, this looks completely staged. Probably a salvaged Lightning these guys acquired and decided to have some fun.

I can't see how it can quickly be ID'd as a Lightning before they can clearly see the grill ?

This looks staged. Truck in the middle of nowhere, guys in fire suits videotaping, looks like a Pro model but there is so much smoke from the rear you cannot identify the Lightning tail lights. The audio ID's it before he passes in front of it as a battery operated truck and before he sees the lightbar to make a positive ID. Looks like somebody burned their company truck for insurance money and is trying to document with a video. Lets hear from whomever made the video why they are wearing fire suits in the middle of nowhere. If they were first responders they certainly would not be videotaping; unless they want to get fired

It's concerning to me that so many people immediately call the video staged despite 0 evidence either way. Is it a defense mechanism, or the inability to comprehend that it is indeed possible for an EV to catch on fire?

Unfortunately critical thinking seems to be scarce in this thread, especially when you have posters suggesting to re-upload the video and title it "Workers light EV truck on fire" for no apparent reason. I guess the majority of stable F150 Lightning owners aren't on here, which is disappointing.

This is deep in the middle of Newfoundland. I've never had the pleasure (or misfortune) of driving this route but this is a sparsely populate area. A friend of mine is actually from Grand Falls-Windsor, which is close there. It seems to me there are a disproportionate number of fires of all types in that area, much like where I live now.

You are not wrong, but there have been so many false claims about electric vehicle fires (like these) that I, too, can default to the "that's another fake" mindset.

I've ridden this highway, on my motorcycle back in Summer of 1986. I can indeed attest that, at least in 1986, pretty much the whole highway on Newfoundland until You got to the Saint Johns area in the East was one solid stretch of desolate albeit beautiful road.

I'd be surprised if it has changed much since then.
