Lightning with Comma AI installed

For those people with Comma Ai installed in there truck!!! Do u need to un-install the Comma AI completely when taking your truck to dealership for maintenance/recall/repairs? Remove the Q4 harness from IPMA?

Probably best to ask in the main Comma thread.

Short answer is depending on what is being done to your truck, definitely remove the Comma from the windshield.

If you are getting something done that involves the IPMA, remove the harness to avoid anyone having a reason to try and claim that the Comma is causing your troubles or to try and deny a warranty.

All that being said, I have done updates to my IPMA with FDRS on my own with the harness still connected (Comma unplugged from the USB cable) without any issues. YMMV.

So far I have left everything wired. I just remove coma from windshield. I have a sliding dock so its easy. If there was some major issue requiring them to look around the IPMA I would just disconnect it and shove it up out of the way.

I've left everything wired, but I take the Comma unit itself out of the vehicle due to it's cost/value.

They've connected to my truck and updated modules with the harness in place. Never said anything to me about it.

Last mine went to the dealer for the parking pall and trailer update recalls, I just unplugged the USB from the comma, mainly for their safety as they did pick up/drop off and I didn't want them to set the cruise control and have it take over for them not expecting it to be modified in behavior.
