I'm happy to help out with the fork, I do think the themed UI is going to cause a huge maintenance headache though. I have a pending MR for fixing the C4 with your latest sync. Forking the UI is fine if you have people dedicated to keeping up with upstream features, but if it's a skeleton crew keeping conflicts to a minimum is key.

Once I get the Torque Interceptor work finished, I will come up with a path forward to keep bluepilot in sync. And yes it will probably mean losing the fancy UI.

Which parts of the UI are the “fancy” bits?
The steering wheel/brake/accel/regen indicator I’d imagine along with the radar for the speed of the car in front of you etc.

These were cute the first time I learned about them. But honestly 99% of the time, I am not looking at my Comma 4 (especially because the screen is now so small compared to the 3/3X). It's a different philosophy but functioning as the designers intended ... i.e. a mature appliance that disappears into the background and just works.
