Locked doors can be opened while driving

Once the truck is up to speed and the doors are automatically locked, one pull on the door handle will open a door.

I don’t believe there is any setting that would allow this? I selected the lock inhibit on and off and no difference.

My understanding is that is a common feature. Some call these panic lock. If something bad happens, you won't be fumbling around trying to unlock the door. You can just pull the handle and get out. Kind of the same concept with panic hardware on exit doors in places of public assembly.

Pretty normal. The difference is on the back doors you must pull the handle twice, front doors only once.

I turned on the child locks day one just because of these "unknown" features.

This has been standard on Fords with power locks for as long as I can remember. I personally like it but it is frustrating when I ride in a Chevy because I pull the handle half a dozen times before I realize I have to hit the unlock button first. Lol

I’ve owned a bunch of F150s, I guess I just never really paid attention to this before, my son mentioned it. I understand how it works when the vehicle is in park and the doors unlock, but I didn’t think you should be able to just open the door while driving down the highway without first unlocking. Thanks
