Workaround the leave the truck on and remove the key, or just remote start?

Agreed, but I don't live in a cold environment. Also at least currently, my truck is not plugged in overnight at least 5 nights per week (driveway logistics issue). In fact a month or two ago I turned off my scheduled departure since it was totally un-needed in the summer and that prevented it from turning on most the exterior lights (yes, I have the truck in silent mode). Before the next southern California version of winter arrives, I will be retired so won't have a regular early morning departure, so I don't expect to re-enable scheduled departure. I do use remote start somewhat regularly, but that's usually to cool it off, not heat it up. (cabin only, not battery).
I agree. That seems like an odd omission.

Agreed. When I first got my Flash, that was the biggest learning curve I had. It was 94 degrees outside and I couldn't for the life of me figure out the HVAC controls. VERY distracting. ALL vehicles should have physical buttons for HVAC controls at a minimum. I had to literally open the owners manual to figure out the button press sequence to shut HVAC completely off also. Ridiculous.
Yeah I can see it in certain parts of Cali, not really being needed. I live near Mt. Hood at some elevation, so in the wintertime we regularly see sub-freezing temperatures in the AM through mid-morning. So for me, knowing I have an appt at say, 10am the next day, it would be great to be able to tell it that and let it pre-condition, rather than saying 10am on Wed. knowing that next Wednesday I may need to leave at 6am, or 1pm, or not at all, and thus keep chasing the recurrance rather than letting it "expire," like the one-time charge does, or nearly any smartphone alarm app allows you to do.
I agree and wish we still had physical buttons for this stuff, even with the big screen. The fact that when you have no seat conditions on, that pressing it once defaults to heated seats full and then you have to ratchet it down and into cooling if you want it is annoying, especially when it's laggy. If nothing else just make pressing the icon simply open to other options without turning one of them on automatically. Or give us door buttons for those controls like lots of other manufacturers do.
The Lariat and Platinum have thicker steering wheels. Probably due to extra padding or thicker leather wrap.
That works too, just unfortunate that it's tied into the main screen, so it's often so laggy that the clicks don't register, or conversely sometimes register as multiple presses.
I agree with this problem. I can see what song they sing in the school bus 300 yards back, but I have no idea what's going on around the truck. I never had cameras on my previous cars, and using the mirrors to back up have been easy. Now I have to rely on cameras that only display a good picture in fair weather. Any rain, and probably snow, ruins it.
Same here, I keep it in Sport mode and it's annoying to have to catch the memo on the dash before it expires to keep it in that mode. Just leave it where I set the damn thing.
Easiest way to shut off hvac I've found is to press the fan icon so the rotary dial changes to fan speed from radio volume then just turn the knob all the way to the left.
