Not sure if this has been covered. WAL was enabled during dealer visit. When parking at home in attached garage I get multiple notifications from fordpass that truck was locked. If I'm moving around house I might get as many as 8 notifications. If I come home and set phone down I get 1 or 2 notifications. I like getting notified when I'm out and about, but would prefer no notification at home. Or preferably not locking in garage. Any suggestions? Samsung S25Ă·

There's no geo settings for WAL excludes, unfortunately.

In regards to the alerts, are you saying you're getting 8 notifications for only 1 last door shut/auto-lock...or you unlocked and it auto-locked 8 times?

If the latter, that's normal to get a notification for each transaction...if the former, that is indeed odd.

I turned notifications off because of WAL...walking around my house or garage locks and unlocks the truck many many times...

Are you sure it's one event or is it what a reasonable person thinks is 1 event but the truck thinks you are hovering in and out of the trigger range so it keeps locking and unlocking?

Geo fence would be a sweet option. If I am home it's in the garage so locking is not needed

Check your update history here: https://www.ford.com/support/software-update-release-notes-history

It doesn't cover dealer updates, but if they didn't update sync then odds are you're on the "old" settings which (IMHO) was too sensitive, so even though you were 30ft away it would still pick up your phone and not trigger WAL.

WAL does not unlock your vehicle, so it's a bit weird that you get notifications, unless, you're referring to "phone as key is trying to connect" / or "connected to" messages, you'll get those even if you're 6000miles away on a different continent.

The Walk-Away Lock Feature - SYNC-25.2.1.6.5 update is horrible in my opinion.
It went from 30ft detection to 2ft so now, if I have my phone in my back pocket it won't pick it up, I have to hold it up to the window for it to work, so they should really create a sensitivity slider or something, or use two different settings, for walking away vs. approach.

I get 1 event in phone notification history from fordpass, but 6 to 8 notification tones from phone. Only happens at home when in Bluetooth range of truck. When walking out of range get normal response. My about sync says 24127. Don't have controls for WAL yet, but it autolocks. Only happens in 1st five mins from getting home.

I received WAL via an update at the dealer last week and it has been performing as expected from the start.

It does not unlock on approach and it only locks after a considerable distance from the truck. I get one notice that it has locked the truck.

What you’re describing doesn’t like normal/expected behavior to me.

It doesn’t actually unlock unless you open a door.

As others have said. My truck only locks the doors when I walk away and it notifies me only once even if I walk around the house or the garage. It does not unlock the doors unless I touch inside the door handle. Maybe there is a setting for unlock somewhere like the approach lighting and running boards. I had to shut that all off the first week for the exact reason. I got WAL later so maybe they added door unlock to those settings. Not at my truck to check.

Mine does not unlock unless touching handle. Not sure if multiple alerts is phone or fordpass glitch

Hmm... Have not checked the doors but the lights turn on and mirrors unfold, then I wander a few feet away and it turns lights off and folds mirrors in. All without touching a handle And it would notify via app

Triggering the welcome lighting is expected. Mine doesn’t unfold the mirrors until I grab the handle.

This seems like odd behaviour. The truck should send one message only when it locks the truck. Mine has been like this since the dealer update for the front motion sensors. I get one message only - even when I walk right by the truck. My wife's MME has native WAL and again, only one message when it locks the first time - no duplicates.

I wonder if there is a bug in the latest WAL software that relocks the truck every time the PAAK is out of range. @Ford Motor Company might want to treat this as a bug.

Yeah the mirrors is the part that confused me. Welcome lights make sense.
