how much range should it have? Who Cares!
I saw them online a couple of weeks ago and also (that Mustang)at the electrify expo Dallas. They are located in Denton not far from where I live. I really want the Shelby cobra EV conversion.

The guy said it was not built for range. It was built for performance and speed!!!

$70,000 for a Rav4 size SUV with low end EV range is wild.

Nice looking rig but seems about $30k too expensive IMO

I agree that 300+ miles is the minimum. I looked at the Lightning back when SR was the standard and ER was way too expensive. It doesn't work for me.

I agree that on a regular basis you don't use anywhere near 200 miles in a day. But I heard back then (and have witnessed now) that you lose 1/3 when it gets to ski weather. It's critical that I can drive to the ski area and home. I also will sit in the truck at lunch, and use my teapot and microwave for lunch; as well as the heater while I'm sitting there. I'll have the heater on while driving too. And I want to have at least 10-15% when I get home (with an ICE it was always 'look for the gas station' when the tank hit 1/4).

It's 57 miles to one ski area and 72 (part on a 70mph+ road), so I need (72*2 plus 15% @2/3 efficiency, plus something for the lunch and heating) 250 mile range would just about do it.

I also drive over the mountain pass for a 170 mile trip; but in the winter you have reduced range. And in the really bad winter you might have to take the 200 mile 'better' road if it's bad. Now you are double hit!

Cool car! And I'm not a jeep guy! It is nice to see new EVs popping up. The other day I was reading an article on the very expensive cadillac celestiq. Not my cup of tea as well but at least some manufacturers are not backing down on fully electric vehicles. Hopefully Ford will deliver sooner than later.
