Hey folks, just got myself a 2025 lightning XLT and couldn't be happier! Now I just need to name it, was hoping for suggestions.

Also any suggestions on a small antenna I can order to replace the current antenna?

Actually ordered it in April, and with the fire in October and the multiple delays I'm actually lucky I was one of the last ones to get it. But Lucky is a great choice

Be prepared for poor AM/FM reception.

Stubby antenna
Can't remember the last time I listened to ota radio. I stream via Pandora for the past 15 years or more. Therefor a stubby antenna takes care of an aesthetic value for some.

Yeah most of my music is through Apple Music anyways so poor AM/FM reception wouldn't be an issue for me

I've replaced my antenna with a stainless button head machine screw, with almost nothing sticking up, to facilitate using a cover sometimes. Theoretically this should eliminate reception, but I can still get some local FM stations, though I usually just enjoy the quiet drive. The proper antenna lives behind the rear seat in case it's needed.

I'd recommend experimenting a bit with antenna mods to see what works in your area. I think the threads are 1/4-20 (not 100% sure) so one could just stick a bolt in there and see if it works.

Shorter antennas are available on Amazon.

Congrats on the purchase!

But I'd hold off on the "lucky" moniker until you see if you encounter any of the myriad of potential glitches documented on the forums, knock on wood, hopefully not!

If you have a sun roof, you might end up calling it "The Sponge" or "The Swamp" - a couple nicknames I used for my old 1968 Peugeot 404 with a leaky sunroof.

I used the name "Tan Trk" on my license plate for one of my trucks, which was meant to have a yoga variation connotation, but to Spanish speakers meant "so much truck."

Avoid the name "Nova" for that reason ("no go" in Spanish).

"Torque" might be a fitting name, it's got plenty.

---

I only use the FM to listen to XM, iPod or Zune with an iTrip FM transmitter from back in the old days when I used it with my 2001 Ranger XLT.

I tried to stream my devices using the blue-tooth but too many drop-outs and disconnects with that method.

Mostly though I plug an SSD or thumb drive formatted in xfat with my gazillion files on it into the USB data port and put it on shuffle.

I did the same thing. a simple hex head bolt. I stream everything through my phone with android auto. works great.
