Correct that HF650M is LISTED as "Does not fit" the Lightning on:
  • Leer Website
  • Third Party Sellers (RealTruck, AutoAccessoriesGarage, etc)
    Amazon

HOWEVER, IT DOES FIT
It is listed as it doesn't but I purchased mine knowing it "does not fit" and it fits perfectly fine.
The bed of the Lightning is the same as the regular F-150.
I have a photo of it fitting, and another forum member also has photos of it fitting.
I had this exact experience yesterday with the bull rings-- listed as "CONFIRMED DOES NOT FIT YOUR VEHICLE" on amazon. Ford sells a near identical part on ford accessories for more money. Bought the amazon one "just in case", tried it, it fits like a glove. There's no clear way to dispute the "confirmed fit" bad info and save everyone a few bucks. FWIW

I was wondering about folding the mirrors in. Do you find it makes much difference in range?
I don't now for sure. I tried it at 50-55 Mph one night and got 2.7 m/kW. I'm averaging 2.5 with my normal driving using lots of driver assist, not much A/C and on slower roads. I really need to do a comparison on the same road and speed. The truck is still new so I am driving like the old man I am.

When I do try it on the highway in Blue Cruise hands free I make sure to turn on my cargo camera which shows me traffic behind and to the sides, though distorted (fisheye.) However, if I need to change lanes suddenly I feel very uncomfortable and it takes the mirrors a few seconds to deploy so you need to plan, and break old habits where to look. Habits are tough. I don't recommend it if you have any safety concerns. However, it does make me feel better about not bumping mirrors when I see an oncoming truck on a narrow road and have time to fold them.

This should go in a different thread.

It went well. Pretty easy install. Yes, it does block the bed camera.
I decided to get this Bison cover since is does not block the post holes if I want to add a rack and looks great in your pictures.... but they don't sell to the USA. :( We need an equivalent USA distributor/vendor with Canadian prices.

That’s too bad. Normally it’s the other way around: we can’t get US companies to ship to Canada.

Let me preface by saying yes, this needs it's own thread, however:

I've had mine for one week yesterday. I'm also driving like the old man I am. Consistently getting 2.8mi/kwh according to the truck. One pedal driving has made that easy. I'm also a guy who's dad taught him the benefits of downshifting, engine braking, using a Jake brake, and extarders on the rigs he drove, whether they were 18 speed manuals with a split or an automatic transmission. 1PD seems like a natural extension of all that I was taught. I tried the bed cam and mirrors tucked in for a few miles on the way home yesterday. Habits are a thing! I was constantly looking at my sideview mirrors to no avail!

Just my experience with all the bed covers over the years:

Soft folding: Works OK, but the release mechanisms are usually the two handles on either side and those are a PITA. Also, can easily be sliced with a knife and opened in 2 seconds by theives.

Soft rollup: Works OK, but seems like everytime it's rolled up and then rolled closed it has to be adjusted for tightness on both sides of the rails again, because the Velcro doesn't always line back up perfectly. PITA. Also not very secure.

Hard folding: Very nice, works great. More secure because you can't just cut it with a blade in seconds. The gripe I have here is that they don't allow 100% bed access. The front panel stays put on most models. There are some that allow the third panel to fold also, but then you block the rear glass completely and you still lose about 9" of bed space.

Hard rollup: Now we're talking. This is my favorite type. Secure, works great, allows full bed access in seconds. Rolls back closed easily and lines up almost every time. If you can afford it, this is the way to go.

Hard retractable: Takes up 12" of valuable bed space which is a no-go. Also, over time the tracks can become sticky and stop allowing the cover to slide properly. Also, these are generally very expensive.

Hard one piece: Works great. Is the most secure. Can load items on top. But you can't use the bed to haul tall items unless you completely remove it.
