Are you interested in being a charge provider or a driver that receives a charge in an emergency?

Only for a known friend would I offer a temp charge on the road.

I have once charged a Chevy bolt at my remote cabin in a gated community. The gate attendant called me and asked if I could help this elderly lady who pulled up to the gatehouse with only 5 miles of range left. The nearest fast charge station was 35 miles away. I had her plug in her Bolt into my home L2 until she had 50 miles of range left. then directed her to a DC fast charge station She had no clue about EVs and was driving a rented Bolt. She still had 160 miles to go to her final destination.

Hopefully someone helped her at the DC fast charger on the Florida Turpikd that I directed her to. At least it was daylight.

You should just buy a towing company and install large generators capable of 48amp L2 charging. You could put a Tesla universal charger on it and rescue anybody who needs a boost or tow.

Can't see that being used enough to justify the investment.

Also, I don't carry enough insurance and I'm not interested in carrying more insurance to cover someone else's problems. A bad connection burns their car to a crisp? I'm not carrying that kind of insurance.

A teen on his phone plows into me while I'm sitting on the side of the road charging this other person? I'm not carrying enough insurance to cover that and I'm sure neither the EV driver nor the inattentive teen are carrying enough.
Insurance is something I'm concerned about as well. Ride share services have found a way to make that work without the sky falling. Drivers are "independent contractors" and they buy their own insurance. Does anyone who drives for them have experience with that arrangement?

Here's the main problem - SAFETY. I don't know Bob, the guy that ran out of power. He sounds nice. But, he's on the side of I-94 (dangerous), and I'm not risking my life to charge him for an hour while waiting for someone to plow into me
Safety is a great point. How would one trust & verify in both directions?

Bob’s a forum member… he’s got a good rating. Or, Bob is a rando I’ve never heard of.

I get the idea of being a good sam/entrepreneurship but it may be a solution in search of a problem as charging networks grow and fill gaps.
