I’m starting this thread for those of us who have had or will have our dealerships deny price protection on orders placed prior to Ford’s MSRP increases.

The lack of customer support from Ford Corporate does not separate them from liability for the fraudulent contract denial practices of their dealers. I am not an attorney but I work with legal contracts all the time and the refusal to acknowledge price protection on an order with a price that has already been indicated in writing with and order deposit placed by the customer just because the MSRP on the window sticker went up between the order and the delivery of the truck is blatant fraud.

My dealer refused repeatedly to provide Me with an accurate purchase contract to provide to my finance company to complete my loan and as a result they effectively stole my opportunity to order this special vehicle that I waited nearly 2 years for.
Please join this thread if you’ve similarly either paid more than your original agreed order price and received no support from Ford corporate to make the dealer honor their contract or you chose to lose your truck to the dealer rather than pay for the lie.
Hopefully someone with contacts with a class action specialist will pick up the members of this thread. I have all of the documentation that they would need to sue my dealer and Ford for refusing to cooperate and stand by the legal contract I lost.

I made a lot of the same arguments to my dealer when they 1. denied that the price protection program existed, and then 2. explained that their policy was to pass the refund to the purchaser upon receipt from Ford.

Per recent posts on the "After the Fact" thread, a few purchasers are getting close to the 45 day waiting period for Ford's refund to the dealer. And as others have noted, the Lightning Pro is not the first time Ford has (poorly) run this type of price protection program (See Bronco and Mach-E).

My position: I think we'll see over the next month whether dealerships fulfill the program. And although class actions sound great (leverage), frequently it is the plaintiffs' attorneys who reap most of the resulting pay-outs (in the form of their fees) while the formal award (mostly likely reduced during settlement) is thinly spread across the class, and only represents a portion of the damages suffered. Might be better than nothing, let's see how things play out.

My dealer stated there would be no price protection and I would not get anything from Ford. They stated that price protection does not exist and refused to acknowledge that they should send the money when they get it.
They are amongst the dealers who are clearly looking to just steal the extra money refunded on the vehicles to make up for the fact that they decided to sell with no markup.
Had I purchased the vehicle at the sticker MSRP I was very confident I would never see anything and receiving no support from ford marketing nor customer service to acknowledge what we’ve all seen in the corporate memo saying that pricing for existing converter led orders awaiting scheduling would be honored.
The dealer was going to make me sign something saying that I understood I would not get any refund nor price protection in order just to be able to purchase the vehicle at the higher price. Because of the BS and the fact that I could use active cruise control and lane holding more than a headache and a pickup truck I decided to just order a Tesla at their new lower prices instead.
This was supposed to replace my 2017 Focus EV that I bought instead of a Tesla way back then and Ford pushed me to the dark side at least until my wife’s Rivian order is built.
perhaps mine will be one of the few cases where the dealer is clearly angling to steal the refund or get you to abandon the truck. I hope for the sake of the community as a whole that is the case. But it doesn’t sting or piss me off any less as someone who waited since day one for an opportunity only to have it promised in writing and yet be denied.

Then sue your dealer.

Ford has nothing to do with the prices, terms, and final contract done by your dealer.

Dealers are franchised independent businesses.

It's been shown many times that you will receive the Price Protection funds after you buy it.

It's not the dealer's fault for not fronting something that is not for sure to them.

Have your state AG go after your dealer.

At the end you will get a refund check from Ford but since you decided to get a Tesla, enjoy your ride.
